Strangelove's Campaign: The Barbarian King

PostPosted: 19 Aug 2013, 15:15
by Strangelove
As of this moment the Campaign contain 12Maps, featuring mostly big maps and dynamic scripting to make the AI feel more alive or/add more depth to the player-experience. Initially I was hoping to release my campaign in finished and more polished state, but I need people to help me playtest and provide feedback. ;)

If someone is able to help me write a story, design a worldmap or whatnot, please let me know!

Details & Features:
- Some of the maps feature unique scripts
- AI can rebuild their buildings (if given the time to do so)
- In a lot of Maps the AI expands their town
- Sometimes previous decisions impact later maps
- Other under the hood tweaks

Hi

I played your fightmission and i must say it was great. The way the enemy approach you is really fun. Because you cannot know when they coming. In the description of the download attachment you say it is intended to be hard. I cannot say it was hard to win. Maybe more troops will fix this, or a ambush from 3 directions so they hit your xbows. :D

But i really like this way of a fighting map and the map itself is very nice.
With such maps i think you campaign will be really nice.

Here is my replay.

Well, you are the first one who tested it tbh. :P
I mean I played it myself a few times, but since I am not a really good player, it wasn't that easy for me xD

Thanks for your replay. Gonna watch it immidiatly! :D

EDIT: Just finished watching. I think I have to tune my Attackscript a bit xD Maybe some additional troops as well :P

I did not test the missions yet, but i do have a question for you. Are you going to use dynamic scripts in your campaign?

Oh, I thought you might be a lil' more familiar with scripts than I am haha. I try to improve and optimize my scripting. :)

What TS-Server you talking about? However, I got no mic, so i could only chat there. :P

it wasn't very hard it wasn't easy, just good to do for every player i think
your mountain map looked really nice :)

i have just had a first look at your first mission
and it looks really interesting and promising :D
especially the amount of ally's, something else :D

i thought maybe i can help you with some script, but you are way better than me xD

Glad you liked it!
I made it a bit harder since Islar got so many troops remaining at the end. :P And since it should be a higher level map anyways.^^

Well, you better protect your allies, else you are dead (if you loose more than 2 of them) )haha. :P

Please provide as much feedback as possible. I wanna make this as perfect as possible! :)

Hi, I've played your "FightingMission" and I really enjoyed it. You wrote that this suppose to be a hard mission, well I have to say that it isn't. There is easy way to win this, if you're intresting in game replay:
Here it is: http://speedy.sh/5P278/GG.rar
Keep up the good work. I will write the impression about first mission of your campain soon.

It seems like I do have to improve my AutoAttack-Procedure, that it cant be trigged by one Unit only. :P
Maybe some additional Troops and less reinforcement as well haha.

Wow I just realized what a bad Player I actually am :$ XD

i didn't had much troops left xD
8 knights and all xbows
don't make it to hard, the most guys on the forum are better than the "normal" player.

i played your first mission to, the start was awesome but after 45 minutes it became boring, it would be nice if the waves would be bigger and a grand final i think
at the end i could still train 50 units and i had 40 units on the field.
and it would be nice to know what the lose/win conditions were
example
showmsg : we need to defend the inoccent villagers if 3 or more villages are sacked we have no hope
