Tiank's Maps

Greetings!

I'm going to post my maps here. I hope you're gonna enjoy it!

Battle Maps

In the Middle of Nowhere - up to 4 players, 2v2 or 1v1

This is my first map. The idea was to make 100% snow map, with hard terrain, small troops and narrow paths.
I wanted to make battles a little bit different, smaller and harder.
The idea of desolation was very important to me, that's why there's so little objects.

Image

Fixing in progress - After some time I decided, that it doesn't look good, so I'm gonna re-make it one day ;)

Lost City Struggle - up to 4 players, 2v2 or 1v1

Small troops, little fighting space. You can destroy buildings to make more space.

Building Maps

Cold Steel Mountains - 1v1, iron only

The idea behind it, was to make it an iron only map. That means: Swine Farm, Butchery, Tannery and Armory Workshop are disabled. You still can make Militia, which, suprisingly, seems pretty useful in a map like that. This map also makes you to choose, between building up or down. Going up is easier overall, especially with iron and coal, while going down brings your closer to fish, so you shouldn't have problems with food.

Between Two Paths - up to 4 players, 2v2 or 1v1, half iron-/leather-only

This map has one leather-only loc and one iron-only loc in each team. That's why a teamwork is really important. Leather loc was designed to be defended easy, at least a lot easier than iron loc, which is pretty open and has many entrances. Leather loc additionally has unlocked Farm at very beginning. Iron loc has few possibilities to expand your base. The map can also be played 1v1 :).

Ironic - up to 12 players

Iron only map, with almost unlimited food and limited 16 builders from start. Mirrored locations, vertical building style and a lot of set up variations. 12 locs to choose from, different fighting areas at each side - left is more mounty, while right has more open field with only river in the middle. Trading food is blocked, no leather nor towers allowed.

Pure iron fun! :D

City Struggle - 1v1

I wanted to make it in a city theme, as there are none maps like that afaik. You build in the city, you fight in the city (you can't attack any AI's citizens nor buildings though). It's pretty hard to build because of limited space, attacking is hard, but the map is not that campy imo (small bridges at entrances are hard to get through, but there's always second, wider entrance for each loc. Nice idea, but first I must play on it. This map can be great or defeat. Anyway, I hope that will be ok :)

I played it and it was fun. Maybe smooth some hills, remember, you must fight and if there is not so much space it is hard.

I've made another battle map, info in first post.

Also, I fixed In the Middle of Nowhere a little bit. Polished some mountains (there are more Polish now, yeah).

TROLOL, so hard to find Polish stuff (accessories, etc.) on websites, because they give you nail polish and the like :P

Made some fast fixes, thanks to Bullet's fast tips :). I added walls around the Barracks and near Gold Mines, I also straighten some lines and fixed water elevation and tiles.

I'm glad you've enjoyed those games, Pawel :D.

Thanks for GREAT feedback Ben...

I've made a new map, info in first post :).

Unfortunately no replays, cause games were played on previous RC's.

Map available also in Map Database.

Note: It's compatible with higher game speeds ;).

Big thanks to Bullet, who helped me a lot with his tips and suggestions! Also big thanks to Lady Pauline, who gave me a lot of constructive feedback and support! Last, but not least, thank you Dicsoupcan and Zaamoot, for a test game and feedback :).

Map is good, but if i must play with only one player. So its 1v1 i think 256 X: its for me to large. Do not know how to defend, 3 bridges on middle. But its good map if that 2 player have like 2 hours peace time and have some army to fill map. Then will full army can be some great battles. But if only after 1 hour make some miltia and bowmans then when i walk to enemy base mine troops be going to be hungry ;-)

We played some test games on this map and large distance is not a problem. Yeah, the map seems big (it's 208:96 to be exact), but you eventually must meet your enemy at one point, most times it's gonna be middle, then enemy's base. 1v1 games are not long, you ususally have one shot to defeat the enemy, if you win first battle, then most of times you win the whole game, which can be done in less than 20 minutes :).

Yeah, there are 3 bridges, but that doesn't really matter, since you can walk on ice.

During 60 minutes of PT, a good player is able to make around 40 swords, 30 xbows, 10 horses and some (10-20) militia. And trust me, it's enough to have an interesting fight :).

Tiank don't forget to set AI army type to iron only on cold steel mountains

Edit the map should have more stone in storehouse like + 250,500

Thanks for reminding me, it's updated now.

About the stone though - why there should be more stone in storehouse? 60 is a standard amount, also 1050 to mine should be enough in my opinion.
