New Goal Targets

Hi Everyone,
The other day I received an email from Zozol92 (a Polish fan) who said he had discovered new goal types. I experimented and made this table:

Unknown - Always true means that you win as soon as you start. Either it hasn't been set or the target was not in the mission I used, therefore it had been "destroyed".
Unknown - Always false means that you never win. This might be because it is not actually a goal but something else, or the goal is impossible to achieve. But most likely it just isn't set.

Pretty cool, huh?
So !SET_GOAL 6 1 0 2 means destroy military buildings of player 2. This adds lots of new possibilities for missions. (e.g. sneak in and destroy the enemy's military buildings)
The new goal types are now supported by my editor. (version 0.6, that I am releasing today or tomorrow)
If you find out or know anything else (e.g. what the unknown values are for) then please let me know.

Well actualy I knew this already. I thought it was known. I used !SET_GOAL 8 1 0 X in my mission 14, for example, and !SET_GOAL 7 1 0 X in mission 10.

But I disagree about the meaning of 7. I think you will win when all enemy serves are dead (maybe school including?).

I am actually wondering about those 1 and 0 in !SET_GOAL X 1 0 Y...

@TDL: Why didn't you say you knew this!!!!!!!??????? All my knowledge came from the doco written by Litude and Nick, and they didn't say anything about it.
Your right Dark Lord, 7 means all schools and all serfs. (just serfs, not other units or troops)
I've experimented some more and it appears that 6 (economic buildings) also needs troops to be destroyed, but 8 doesn't. Strange.....

P.S. I've just discovered !ADD_GOAL 1 1 0 0 in the TSK tutorial!! It must mean once you've built every building up to the tannery, as it is the only goal for that mission. Also, if you add this then the messages are displayed as you build the buildings. (now you must build the inn, etc.) I think I'll call this goal Build Tutorial. I will test some more...

Because I thought it was already known. Have you never wondered about the objectives in mission 3 TPR (destroy military buildings) and mission 4 TPR (don't kill those green serves, if I remember it right)? I have, so I searched for it and experimented some... I must admit that I didn't know about !ADD_GOAL 6 1 0 X though.

Wait a second... I thought !ADD_GOAL 8 1 0 X means that you only have to destroy the military buildings which produce weapons (Weapons workshop, Armory workshop, Weapons smithy, Armory smithy, Town hall and Vehicles workshop (and Barracks perhaps, but I forgot about that).

I've finally updated this table and discovered some more.
I opened every mission in my TPR folder (except multiplayer ones) and did a search for goals. Only the types here are used.
I think this is all correct, although I have not thoroughly tested type 0 and 5. (or 9+ for that matter)
Let me know if you know anything else.
I'll have the new version ready soon with this information.

No, unless they are in a multiplayer mission or TSK but not TPR. I have checked all the .DAT files in the TPR mission folder except for the multiplayer ones.

I just fixed my mission 14 - the problem was the goal. I want you to destroy all vehicle workshops. I looked in my script, and I saw that all goals were ''!ADD_GOAL 6 1 0 X'' ones. In the first post I read that it should be 8 1 0 X. That is incorrect! !ADD_GOAL 6 1 0 X means: destroy all militairy buildings + troops! So goal 6 is goal 8 and goal 8 is goal 6... I suppose...

Are you saying that my information is wrong? Maybe I didn't test it enough.
So you say that 6 = Military buildings and troops
and 8 = What???? I spent ages testing this, so I thought it would be right. Maybe I just got the numbers mixed up, and if I swap 6 and 8 then it will be right.
I thought I tested this, but maybe you're right. I'd like to update it.

Well I think 8 is 6 and 6 is 8, but what 8 actually is... I haven't tested that. Or maybe my mission was just bugged.
The reason I didn't improve the script of mission 8 was because it was bugged too: when I changed an AI_DEFENSE, my ally became my enemy and his colour changed from brown to black (as if !SET_CURR_PLAYER) didn't work anymore)... :roll:
But look in mission 4 TPR (or 3, I don't remember :P). You don't have to destroy schools, inns and storehouses, right?

As for that bug, I had that bug several times. Try to delete the mission you're overwriting before saving. (open, edit, delete original, save as original's name)

It helped in my assassin mission.

Hi Everybody,
Just a new update on an old topic.

Well, it's been on my to do list for ages, but in preparation for the next release of my editor I finally checked whether The Dark Lord is right; should 6 and 8 be swapped?
They should!! I stuffed up completely!
6 = Military Buildings and Troops
8 = Storehouse, Schools and Inns

I've updated the image to reflect that. The next version of my editor will handle these goals properly.

You know it's a good thing I didn't start messing around with the goals in mission 4 TPR as they looked real messed up the way things were in your editor.
