A difficult road to the West - INCL download link

Hi all,

I've been playing KAM for many, many years and would like to do something for the community as well.

Your village, yellow, have lived in peace in the mountains for decades. Rebels discovered your village and its rich surroundings and are on their way to attack you again. You need to stop them and conquer them before its too late and other villages hear about this situation.

You are located in the East.

Rebels are approaching your city from the North and South soon, prepare your troops for battle before you lose any buildings!

Your scout and the rebels discovered that there is an extra storehouse, which some valuable additional resource. Prepare for incoming attacks!

Whenever you are in need to extra resources, you can find extra iron, coal and gold, but heavily protected by Red.

Grey noticed the big battle in your village, and is making plans to attack you.
Image

If you manage to survive this, make your way to the West, but be careful for the xbows!

Green and Blue are expanding rapidly, make sure you stop them!

This is the first release and I'm looking forward for feedback, improvements or balancing tips.

Some feedback from me.

About the looks. Check out these videos:

They would give you an idea how to improve map's look. Most important things to fix right now, are coal fields, mountains, object placement (needs more objects imo), trees' placement (less trees in one place ;) now they are too close to each other at some places)

About overall idea - seems interesting. About it's difficulty - hard to tell, needs to be played first to judge that. But small passages and non-lureable shooters seem to make it diffcult enough :).

I hope that there will be more xbows gurading road to the west?

Hey, thanks for the reply!

I've already seen the last 2 videos, the first one was quite interesting on how precise and detailed the creator makes the map. Really brought up some interesting things.

- Coal fields -> more/better smoothing with surrounding landscapes I assume?
- Mountains -> Can you elaborate on this point?
- Objects -> I agree, I'am still working on it, and the first video really helped a lot.
- Tree's -> thanks for the feedback! will work on that

Blue starts making troops straight away. and the remaining troops yellow will have, there is no way they survive this :P ( i assume )
planning is to make 3 teams of 12 xbows.

Coal fields - yes, smoother surroundings, use tiles instead of brush, start from making shape and then go to the center with more dense tiles, something like that:

Mountains - try to make them more interesting, more sharp edges, yet not too sharp, also, elevate terrain at mountain's foot. Look at the right one:
