Kroms map editor with windows 7

Does Kroms map editor work with windows 7? I unloaded everything into the "KaM - The Peasants Rebellion" folder but I get an error message.
Please help, I'd like to make missions again!

Okay, so I open up the editor and I get this message:

Exception EAccessViolation in module KM_Editor.exe at 00060A66
Access violation at address 00460A66 in module 'KM_Editor.exe'. Read
of address 00000006.

The editor won't even open...
But if I place everything in the DATA folder, then I get to open the editor, but the objects tab is disabled (expected) and I get a completely black map that I can place anything on.

Looks like graphics card driver issues for me, try to upgrade, or if you have the newest one, downgrade it (e.g. use the one from CD included to graphics card).

I'm using my brothers laptop, which is a 2010 windows 7, so it's got a good graphics card. I can't downgrade; though, because my brother would disapprove. Thanks anyway.

I had this problem too but it was fixed in the latest version of the editor. (released a few weeks ago) Download it from here:
http://code.google.com/p/castlesand/downloads/list

It is called KAM_Editor_06b.rar

I hope this works for you.

BUM BUM BUM BUM! IT WORKS! Thanks so much Lewin! You're always so much help.

Actually it didn't work at first, but I could at least START the editor. That's a plus. Thing is, it wouldn't load the tiles or arrow or gradient files. So I looked at the error message and it said that it could (for example) find KaM-TPR\Resource\arrow.tga and I said huh? why have I no resource folder?!? I didn't so I made one, and HURRAY! It works! Now I just hope I can still make maps! I'm sure my skills are rusty...

The Resource folder is important.... it might not function without it. I just checked and it IS in the version I gave you the link to. Try downloading and extracting the the RAR into your KaM folder again, and say "Override" or "Replace" if it asks you. Check that the Resource folder exists and that it contains files such as Tiles1.tga, gradient.tga etc.
Pretty sure the editor needs these to function properly....

Yeah it does, but I just made a resource folder myself. I just made a map last night so the editor is working now.
