At least your enemies can't do that now (since plans are invisible between enemies). If your ally wants to ruin your day we can't really stop them sadly :(

Yes I know... There is only one way to to solve this problem: Ban. I hope this will be possible in future. ;)

Unfortunately permanently banning players won't work unless we have some kind of accounts system (I've explained that enough times, read our FAQ if you don't know why that's hard). But we should be able to let you kick and ban a player from your lobby, so he can't rejoin under a different name after you kick him. That would just block his IP from your current lobby.

Yeah, but still this isn´t possible. "Professional Noobs/jerks" click on a button at a program(which dont wanna name) and his IP is changed or via some sites -.-
So there wont be a perfect solution. Only things like Steam etc works quite well, but only because the people paid money and if they hack or sth, they wasted there money :D Same with new games, but there is a KEY and the Key is blocked then permantly for example, so KaM wont have a tidied up lobby from all jerks :D :P

@ChrisEggII: Haha yeah, that why more and more people from forum only play with people, that they really know :D
I know that much peopls, asking me in skype, to play with them, because they won´t play with a player named "Perfect noob" XD

Lewin, I knew it and I saw topic, where idea with registered accounts was declined. Anyway this wouldn't change anything. Banned player can always make next account. Ban by IP won't work neither. Some people (like me) can just reconnect.

Yes, I know it. For me this is just stupid idea. I was kicked from lobby many times, because "nobody knew me". But how can they know me, if they didn't play with me?

From forums. That's why you wouldn't be kicked by me. If I know some nickname from the forums, I assume this guy is at least capable of writing in English, which is enough to give him a try.

Another option is to use certificates, i.e. public key infrastructure, not necessary the existing (commercial) one but create our own. This enables us to use a lot of features and be able to make it more secure in the future. Some open source games already use public key cryptography in place of plain old "GUID" and some programs (like Mumble) use certs.

Advantages:
- no need for single server which have to be online 24/7, instead we need some (2-3 should be enough) servers which will issue certs
- it' technically impossible to spoof it
- you can sign certs multiple times (in case of PGP at least) so you can sign players cert with his clan certificate
- revocation lists, can be used with above
- classes, I don't know if there is any limit but it can be used to distinguish well known players
- you can (ab)use validity/issue date to know when player first "registered"

Disadvantages:
- you need something to sign, email address is most easy to use but user you can make multiple accounts
- probably a lot code to be written, not sure if there are any ready to use libs in pascal

Some though on the security part - as mentioned above certs have classes, you can tie this classes with certificate "strength", e.g. class 0 - self signed cert, class 1 - email based and in the future it would be possible to use web of trust (reputation ?) to assign higher class to a certain player or use mobile phone number (hash) as the identification, which will improve overall security, since it's a lot harder to have multiple phone numbers..

Sado, maybe for you, but there are players, who want to something more than account in this forum. Many "pro" players play only with other "pro" players.

Well, nowadays everyone from the forums is picky about the guys joining our games. Some guys wouldn't let you into their games, because they want to be 100% sure that the game won't be totally unbalanced because one of the players didn't make barracks before pt or something. But these players also play games where they let 1-2 less known/less good guys in, and that's where the less known guys can prove themselves, or just see how much they lack to become better. Teamspeak is also important. I will prefer to give a place to a TS/forum player, because it's usually not a quitter, if he has network problems I quickly know if he can come back to the game or should I look for a replacement.

If I want to play with forum guys, I usually tell people that they can't play because I'm waiting for someone. It's almost the same as kicking (if they won't listen, I'll still kick them, but it's their choice if they want me to be polite or not... after all, it's my game), but I don't have to treat people like shit.

Well, before mu pause in game (4 months) I had 20 (!) unfinished games in a row. After this I had only one game, where nobody left me, but I still want to play with everyone.
Also when you play with forum guys you know you have no trolls or leavers in the game
Everyone have something from troll ;)

Its not only about people that leave. Playing with people you know also gives the certainty that you play with decent players.

that is true, otherwise it is always a gamble, and games that end 5 mins after pt are no fun. you have build a whole town just for 5 minutes of fighting.....waste of pt.
