I still believe that "own trading" is enough good mechanics to be out of a crisis.

Buildings for "only multiplayer" is a bad idea.
Everything should be useful in both single/multiplayer.
But. This building could be used in SP. If you have allies on a map, you could trade with them. Now this would be an addition on the AI, so I dont know if it is possible but it might just be :P

Btw, I like this idea for the Town Hall very much.

I agree with Ben the Market could be used both for SP and MP ;) a new building only for MP doesn't sound good

Hi guys,

I like the idea of a marketplace for trading between players. Delay sounds good. Caravans would be more interessting, maybe a vagabond edit or a serf walking with a horse, add some wares and a cap/hat to the serf. It should be a unit you can control, so you can decide which way is the savest for you. 3-4 Items per caravan are realistic and horses would become more important too.
A flag near the marketplace would be helpful to show where you have to deliver.

However I would like to trade with my enemies too. "Give me 20 golds or I attack you" :D
You would need a setting for your units to ignore the enemy's caravans. If he kills them he gets only 1 of 4 items.

Would be nice to get a blackmail in a singleplayer mission from your enemy and you have to decide if you pay or not

funny ideas :)

First of all, i just bought Kam PR from gog.com and installed Kam Remake. This was my favourite childhood game. I really thank you for that great job! This is awesome. Guys who designed and developed this expansion are awesome. Thank you guys!

But i think present Market is not compatible with Kam style at all. I mean its good for AoE but not for KaM. I completely agree with Dark Lord in this subject:
As I suggested many times before: dump the marketplace, use it as a building for trade between players.
^This! In addition, trading caravan sprite cant be so hard to create because we already have "serf carrying horse" we can just edit that. (some bags or crates on horse and little editings on serf and we have trading caravan)

The Marketplace has grown on me. If we are to ever add trade caravans, than I propose my earlier idea:
Perhaps if we add the ability to send goods to your allies we could just add your allies' player numbers (with the number being colored respectively) to the list of resources in the marketplace. Then, instead of selecting what you want in exchange for your goods, you select your ally's number and your goods will "appear" in your ally's marketplace.

Just another theory.

I know this discussion has been dead again for thirteen days, but I still think the trade caravan is a good idea. It would kinda remind me of Rise of Nations.
