Great Duel in Horseshoe...
Match of Quality despite some naive mistakes we both made.
He surrendered because his starvation slowed his production of weapons, so couldnt maintain the rhythm of combat.

Micro-management techniques
-> Militias zig-zag (entertains enemy Crossbowmen, while yours shoot).
-> Militias double charge (engage opponent from 2 sides, like sandwich).

Caykroyd, I cannot load it because you missed 1 file.
.sav <--
.bas
.rpl
I understood that you do not need the .sav file:
Replay attached. I guess .rpl file is all you need?
No, they need the .bas file too.
.bas = A save of the entire game state before play started (includes the terrain, that's the biggest part)
.rpl = The commands players issued during the game such as placing buildings and moving troops.
.sav = The most recent state of the game. Not required for replays.
When you view a replay, the game loads the .bas file and then execute commands from the .rpl file as the game goes.
This format might change later, I think it's a bit confusing to have 3 files.

@caykroyd: I'm going on off-topic a little bit, hope you will excuse me )) Yes, having 3 files is confusing, but there is reason behind it from programmers point of view. BAS is the base state and it never changes, so it's in separate file. RPL is a list of commands player issued and it is saved along with SAV which is current state of the game. Technically it is easier to handle 3 objects that are loosely connected in separate - so what we did. And yes, you are right, we might change the design later on and adjoin bas/rpl together, but that is not very important "bugfix" as we have tonn others

Another game *-*
I made about 60 crossbowmen during the game, 27 militias, 9 swordsmen and 6 pikemen. It was hard to control all my troops at once as i had to attack the green and red enemy whilst I blocked the grey from leaving his base.
I liked very much the tactics used by blue's cavalry, he killed whole troops of crossbowmen with different tactics. In the end i had my production a little slowed because I had to take care of many troops divided in the map and also my base, so it was hard to multi-task. The game was indeed very fun, but it was also very fast (1hr:35min).

Since my previous post I've discovered that although the .sav file is not used for replays, the game won't notice the replay unless the .sav file exists (but it could be from any game) So you should upload all 3 files when posting a replay. But if someone doesn't, you can fix it by copying one of your .sav files and giving it that name.

Wow!
though I can't upload it all at once with the "upload attachment" option, because the max size is something like 250kb, and all three compressed files give about 280 kb... so i suppose i will have to start uploading them to some external site

I can't view that replay
andreus, Endymion vs DiegoForlan, CoSieGapisz
Boarderlands
why not? I can't press the view replay button.
"basesave.rpl" shouldn't be there... has nothing to do with the replay.
Instead of that, there should be "board2.bas" -> look for this one andreus.
Or find that "autosave#.bas" related to the board2 replay.
sorry, I missed .bas
I've uploaded the archive again, now it should work.

i had to, my ally baloo quit after 10 minutes( and taking all the iron mines on lake wololo. so i ran for the leather. i ended up with 14 farms, 5 swine farms 2 stables and i had many sausages. we might have actually won if i had more gold( we all ran out and trading in the market is not as fast as mining it).
the only opening we had was right after pt, we strolled into the enemies towns, but one of them had a reserve and pushed us back after we killed a lot of serfs. still it was a matter of time before they outproduced us.... we were congratulated on giving one hell of a fight though.
