New building and possible units

Here we go...

I am working on this building , cleaned it up a little bit (whoever created it did a very confusing piece of art :D ) and here is how the shape will look like, I will keep you guys posted on my proggress: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/840/testyj.png/
It was no easy task, but i cleaned up the roofs ( it had many mistakes), i will work on the body and start shading tomorrow.

This building can be used as trabe between allies? for this to happen 2 players will have to connect roads to the building..

I remember that house, IIRC the guy planned to make a mod with Egyptian/Indian houses, so thats only a graphical replacement for Store. )
If you do plan to make it please pay attention to:
- so far it is only an idea, there's no evidence we will include it into Remake as a TradePost (we have not decided on trade post at all yet)
- house needs to look good at original KaM size (should be about the same size as Store on that pic)
- most probably it will end as a test for your skills, not an actual house.
- you can paint it as x2 size and then scale it down to get smoother lines, or paint in original size
- Remake supports full color, so palette is needed just to keep the art style with other houses, but you may choose any color and use transparency! )

My experience with scaling down is that the quality is lost big time, I will scale it down right now before filling in the colours as that works better.
I will use the same palette as the original store house is using.

I remember that building as well, and if I'm correct the guy who made it wanted to make a completely new set of KaM buildings (Arabic); this being the storehouse. It is obvious that the building style is completely different from all other buildings in KaM. It doesn't fit in at all and I'd hate to see it being included on its own.

I remember that building as well, and if I'm correct the guy who made it wanted to make a completely new set of KaM buildings (Arabic); this being the storehouse. It is obvious that the building style is completely different from all other buildings in KaM. It doesn't fit in at all and I'd hate to see it being included on its own.
I could work towards a new set, I would need good line art to start with though, as i dont have many ideas for building like this one.

Looks interesting, although not arabic. Interestingly, arabic architecture used quite different materials than stone: "Google > Arabic buildings > Images".
Making 1 house is a test, but making full set needs a lot of background work, like collecting a lot of sample photos and art, describing idea and etc.

I agree with Krom. If your goal is to make it look Arabic, I also recommend using different colours.

this type of building should be alot easier to draw then stone houses such as the one that i drew today.
My main concern is if I was to complete the set, would I have to change every unit's appearance aswell?

I agree with Krom. If your goal is to make it look Arabic, I also recommend using different colours.
This shouldnt be a problem, changing all values of the colours by 40% closer to yellow and orange should provide me with the right palletes

I would start with houses and then see how it goes. Small pieces at time, but with a bigger picture in mind ;-) Thats how we do it with Remake.
Once again, palette colors is the least of the problems )
