Spring of Events 8P

After the many games we played on Shoulder to Shoulder,
I decided to make a new battle map, with the same battle system, only a little bit bigger.
(Every player has his funtion in the army.)
Feel free to leave a comment, so I know what to improve.

Loc 1,5: Core melee
Loc 2,6: Range
Loc 3,7: Anti-cavaliry, meat
Loc 4,8: Cavaliry

Love the terraining looks good, nothing I can see that needs improvement.

It looks actually really small to me. Have you checked the elevation? The terrain seems pretty rough, can you walk everywhere?

Yes you can walk on the terrain, I've worked a lot on that. Except for some hills, but that's normal. It's also a fighting map so yes it's not very big. (60:60)
I would like to have a test game, if it's realy too small I'll make it bigger.

I've just updated the map, changes:
- Bigger map. (60:60 => 84)
- Adjusted amount of soldiers.
- Terrain fixes.

I like the idea, Shoulder to Shoulder for 8P with more space :)

Feedback:
- I think the terrain might be a bit too bumpy in places, all those dark holes in the ground look odd. Varied elevation is good, but I think it looks better when it varies over a bigger distance, not just a few tiles.
- The tile transitions aren't right in some places resulting in solid edges: http://i.imgur.com/OY1Er.jpg
- You placed the same tree over and over in a small area, I think they should be a bit more mixed up within the same "category" of tree.

Open some of the original KaM maps like Ambushed in the map editor and compare the terrain to yours for more ideas :)

I wanted it to be rough but indeed, it's a bit too dark on some places.
Thanks for showing for your screen, I'll check for more terrain bugs that I can fix.
Then yes, I used pretty much the same tree for the same 'biome', so will be improved.

I based myself on TSK campaign maps to create the terrain, but it needs improvement.
Some players also complain about the ramp in the north being a big advantage compared to the south, so I'll see what I can do with that.

I agree with what Lewin said. Also, I think the large ramp is rather a disadvantage than an advantage.

Main problem for me is that the fight can get out of your units' range and you have to move your archers away from the ramp. Then they have to walk around it which takes time. And every second your archers can't shoot at the enemy you will lose more units than your enemy...

The new KaM Remake version will probably be released within 1 week, everything seems ready. It would be great if you could finish the changes to Spring of Events so we can include it :)

Version 1.2 available:
- Changed trees so they become more variated inside 1 category.
- Changed the mountain on the right so soldiers are less vulnerable.
- Changed relief so there are less 'black holes'.

If there is need to be more changes just tell me.

A few little issues:
- The bottom left team is missing militia
- All players need the !CENTER_SCREEN command which can only be added directly in the script (I can add this for you so you don't have to learn how the script works, it doesn't take long for me)
