New RC ediotr maps not compatible

New editor is a pretty thing, however as it apears it can read older maps, but once it saves them there's no going back.
Or there is?
Or, is it just a case with my map couse I've done something wrong?

Either way I'd love to hear a solution how to somehow downgrade a map for use in older releases - especially since new one apears to be quite bugged for now.
Notice I didn't add any scripts.

Maps saved with the RC editor should work fine in old releases. Obviously any new features we've implemented won't work (such as dynamic scripts), but apart from that it should just work.

The RC editor has the advantage that it can regenerate missing tile data for Krom's map editor (tile data is required for terrain brushes to work normally). So if you have a map without tile data (because you saved it from an old Remake editor) then the new RC editor will regenerate it for you and the terrain brushes will work properly again.

There's no official release of updated KaM Remake yet, are you talking about closed beta-testing?

Just when I try to open the map in official release or r4297 editor, OR just try to start the game, there's a normal loading screen: tiles,buildings,units,scritps etc messages, and suddenly after that a message from the screen I gave pops up.
Sorry for polish language in the screenshot, but it just states : 'An error occurred during reading a file...'

Yes, I'm reffering to r5057 candidate release editor.

Thanks for the report, it seems you're right, older versions of the KaM Remake editor are not able to open maps made with the RC version. That's because the RC version does not save the command !SET_MAP (depreciated) which the old editor depends on. We'll consider adding it back because that also breaks compatibility with my mission editor which some people may still want to use occasionally.

For now you can "fix" the problem by opening the .dat file in a script version of my mission editor such as 0.3, and putting as the first line of the file !SET_MAP "test" (doesn't matter what the text "test" is, it's ignored but required in order to make the Remake load the map)
