Re: Forgotten Lands

Screens would be nice. Although I already can say from what I saw before, that I don't like the way you elevate the terrain with randomize tool. But that might be my only complaint, I like the map.

Yeah could you provide some screenshots? Many people are too lazy to download the map... Including myself...

Re: Forgotten Lands

The elevation is a bit strange, but the whole map still looks nice.

Re: Forgotten Lands

Wow, this map is actually pretty good! My biggest complaint is the ridiculous amount of trees. Honestly, I think that all trees on the map need to be removed and placed better/ more "organized." Idk, it's pretty hard to explain. Some trees don't look good on certain terrain, and some trees (like the pine trees) don't look good next to other the kind of trees.
Look at TDL maps to see better trees. Other than that; though, the map looks very good :)

Well in my opinion this maps looks good because of this ridiculous amount of objects including trees.
and some trees (like the pine trees) don't look good next to other the kind of trees.
Fixed.

Re: Forgotten Lands

Well infinite wood is a side effect of spamming trees ;) Besides, crazy object spam doesn't look good. Here, there are a bit too many trees; however, since you adjusted the trees, it may look better.

Re: Forgotten Lands

Very good looking map Certus, you are pretty talented. Your style looks like a mix between TDL's and Thunders style of mapmaking to me. My 2 cents:

+ terrain usage is perfect
+ nice mountains (and elevation in general)
+ looks balanced at first sight
+ open!
+ enough buildingspace
+ not all resources in starting/one screen
+ starting resources are perfect (maybe consider 10 more chests to allow setting up 2 schools from start)

- some coalfields are too far away
- mountains could be elevated a little bit more
- some sharp edged tiles are present

A lot of trees on the map, but not too much imo...

This is final version of this map:

I fixed few issues like sharp edged tiles and removed a few trees.

Enjoy!
