I recently heard that one of our singleplayer mission in the KaM Remake is a little bit tricky, specifically regarding the initial attack. Somebody even used the word "impossible". The mission is called Vortamic and it was made by Ben. So I thought to myself "Well now, we can't have impossible missions in the Remake, that's just silly!" and I sat down to judge the difficulty for myself.

And I really can't see what everyone is complaining about! I defeated the entire initial attack and only lost 16 units. I admit that at first I was a little put off by Ben's idea of a "challenge", which seems to be over 320 elite enemy soldiers (mostly knights and barbarians) rushing at your storehouse for 14 non-stop minutes.

Should I upload a replay? Or is it only beginners who complain about easy missions like these? And can anybody beat my 16 units lost record?

actually good that you mention it, i have tried it several times (even in the shieldpatch) and i really cannot seem to win the initial attack.

Could you say in which version you tried this and offcrouse upload the replay?

Well did you won the mission completly? I am not sure if it was changed but somehow in the new RC I can win it also Also Bence said that he won the whole mission after some tries at RC4. SO my topic isnt valid anymore also:

I only defeated the first attacks (up to 14:30) but I had enough soldiers left to take on anything else they could throw at me.

Offtopic-AI question
Watching your replay brang me some questions about the AI, what I already saw some time ago on VAS´ campaign but have forgot to ask

When the bowmen are shooting on a building and you attack them with one single knight, they dont even try to shoot on them, but keep shooting on the building. So its everytime GG for them. You plan to change that, because the nice thing is, when there are 2 bowmen groups near each other and one group gets attack, the other shoots on the knight,which is actualy inteligent and nice.

Well, that's the advantage of being the developer: you can always program the random generator to work in you favor

Edit: LOL. I didn't have a brain to keep my archers just as far to only reach the closest line of enemies. That's why I have lost so many xD Congrats again, good job

Edit2: Also, those xbows and archers only shoot at your storehouse, no need to kill them with a knight (well, maybe yes, to force your archers to shoot at the melee attackers :p)

Haha after 4th try i stopped. I downloaded your save Lewin. But i did excatly same before download but i even didnt kill half of Knights. I think is so much randomly. in previous versions i won this now cant.

Edit: i Tried To The caital- much easier than innitial attack in Vortamic.
