Uhh... I guess you didn't see this one coming :P

Well well... It has been a long time since my last update (once again). Longer time followers of the site probably know that this has quite become a bad habit for me. Just a quick look trough the news archive reveal a lot of holes where numerous months have passed without and update. I do still intend to start keeping this site alive.
This update is not too big, but to my knowledge the download section should now finally and hopefully be up to date. Some people also threw up theories that I had died in an accident or something (I think and hope most of those theories weren't completely serious :P), so making a news post started being a necessity.
So anyways, the newest editor versions from both Krom and Lewin have finally found their way here, plus some new cool LIB hacking tool Lewin had managed to cook up whilst taking a break from his editor =) Other than that, I did manage to do something about the decoding section, but quite honestly I can't really remember if I finished off the update completely or not. Besides reading at the forums it seems like tons of new information has been discovered about the construction of several game files.
I actually went ahead and implented a section for Windows Vista. To be honest with you, there's really nothing too useful there right now, but I'm hoping that solutions for incompability problems between the game and Vista will be solved in the future and the solutions will find their way into the section.

Hi Litude,
Well done on the update!! It looks nice, almost everything needed has been updated.
Here is a list of bugs: (there might be more than this)
- The download link for my text editor points to Bas Wilber's one
- The real homepage for my text editor is: http://lewin.namsys.com.au/kam/index.php?go=knights_and_merchants_editor_map2bitmap (this is the tools page of my site, the URL still says Map2Bitmap though)
- The mirror 1 link to Thunderwolf's Town Builder in Downloads points at 0.9e, not 0.9f as advertised.
- Many of the site screenshots in Links are out of date. (Polish, German, etc.)

Here is a list of things you still need to add:
- Screenshots of my new editor. There are some more on my site that you don't have. (you should put these under my "Scenario" editor too) They show placing things graphically, and would give users a good idea of what my editor is about.
- Screenshots of my text editor. Here you are: Screenshot 1 Screenshot 2 Screenshot 3 Screenshot 4 That's probably more than you need so just use the ones you want to.
- I think you've missed a bit of decoding info, but not much. The new format for that section is really nice! (tools, documents, etc.) Oh and I know 100% about the LIB files, tell me if you want me to write a document about it.
- You are missing a few tools. Merchator made a units/houses.dat decoder, and it's quite interesting. (although hard to use) Here's the link: http://www.atfreeforum.com/knights/viewtopic.php?t=232&mforum=knights And Map2Bitmap is still not here, some people might find it useful.
- You need a new screenshot of Krom's editor, showing villages.
- I think you should remove the Scenario editor page, it is kind of confusing. Some tools end up with two descriptions of them and that is pointless. My program will never edit maps. (I see no point, Krom's editor is extremely good) Krom's editor is still more of a map editor.
- Why isn't Thunderwolf's town builder under tools? It is worthy of it.
- Do you want to do something with the music section on my site? You could make a page for it under fan creations, some people might be interested. (I feel that no one really uses it now, but on your site it would get more hits)
- What about Krom's KaM remake? It is almost as good as TKE and just as promising. Here's the links: Forum, Website

I will be releasing a new version of my editor today, so check my site later and update it. (there should be a new screenshot too)

Don't be put of by these suggestions, what you've done is great.
I'll let you know if I think of anything else.
Lewin.

My editor is available in english (complete), dutch (complete), german(v.09e), polish (v.09e) and hungarian (v.09e), on the website it says it's langua(n?)ge unknown.

It's description is also kind of outdated:
All features of a single-player mission can be made (no multiplayer yet, and also the new goal types are missing), making it more of a mission-editor by now. It can also save directly as a mission, so there's no need to use another editor for it.

When I get the translations, I will likely update the setup package. I have also been working on it's errors.

EDIT:
About the slow running of the game. a 'solution' is to start task manager, and select processor-affinity(not sure it's called that), reselect all processors. Furthermore, try to raise process-priority (to higher than normal / high).

No matter what I do in the task manager, the game just keeps on lagging :(

And I'll try to fix all of the errors and outdated stuff on my website. As for your (Lewin's) music, I'll need to plan a revamp of the fanart section to make this possible. I'll try adding them but they definitely won't be in the next update.

@Lag: Do you have a clue what might cause it, maybe music/sound?
try disabling all unnecessary programs running in background, update audio drivers (decrease sound compatibility slider, etc.)

No idea what the cause of the lag is, but I'm also betting the sound/music might have something to do with it, as I've heard quite a lot of older games have problems with audio. I'll try your suggestions!
