far away warehouse goods

I've noticed that in for example TSK mission 7 there sometimes are warehouses that are located far away. When i connect a road to it my servants will take the weapons out of it and take those to the barraks, but they don't collect the rest of the goods. For example even if my gold smelter needs the coal form this warehouse they will not bring those to him.

So i wondered why? Can anyone tell me?

Little update:

They do get the goods but only if they are in the neighbourhood. For example i build the gold smelter closer to the second warehouse, and in this case they bring the gold there. When they do, they will take the other goods. But if I place the red triangle on the goods in that warehouse nothing happens with them.

I actually would want them to use as many of the goods in the second warehouse before the enemy overruns it. Because i can't raise an army fast enough to defend it completely.

Weapons to Barracks is one of top delivery priorities.
If you don't have serfs delivering wares from faraway houses you need to hire more serfs.

Ive also noticed that sometimes when they dont collect it you have got plenty of that resource in your other warehouse.. Then they wont pick it up . Ofcourse hiring more serfs would overrule this theorie too..

It's because of the priorities, Closer jobs will be done first.
So if they never get close that it's a priority then it won't happen.

I've had an idea that the longer a job exists the more priority it gets till it eventually has top priority no matter what.
But I have no idea what impact that has on the deliveries, if it remains stable or goes bananas.
