Well boy if you are still intrested in that idea you could make a mod to KaM Remake in future when KaM Remake could have official modding API.

Well boy if you are still intrested in that idea you could make a mod to KaM Remake in future when KaM Remake could have official modding API.

I'm interested in the idea yes, but I'm not dedicated in it... I just re-explained my idea, because of sudden lacking English skills...
Sadly I'm not much of a programmer, so I think it'll stay just an idea... :)

I wanted to push my old idea back :D The mute button.

Everyone knows them, the spammers, the trollers, the "I can´t speak english and have to write with people from 2 different teams on my mother language"-guys or just the people that cannot loose and insult you all day long.

In my opinion the Remake really needs a function like in Dota and most other popular games now. I have read even an arcitle in a German Computermagazine talking about the communication in new Free 2 Play games and it´s really strange today, because some develeopers of new games even closed their chatrooms for their game after 1 week, because there was no way to stop those instuling people. Everyone can feel himself a bit strong because his identity may be hidden for the other player, so he is insulting, but there are ways to stop this or to not even let it start:

Dota Patch 01.06.2014:

New Function Mute it all /Mute player x
This would fit perfectly to the "layout" of the Remake in my opinion. Somewhere near the chatbox is a "mute all" button. If you for example don´t understand the language all other 7 players are talking about and you don´t want to interrupt them or more people are annoying you.

Other thing is the "Mute X" function. Like in Dota, you go to the List of players press on his Name(an extra button isn´t needed) and an extra box is poping out that says "Report/Comment/Mute player". So the 3rd option here would work fine in the Remake also I guess :D




I know that I wrote some time ago about this idea already here, but I like to bring these ideas back again to hope that the friendly community will be saved/discovered with such an easy thing. The main problem in kam is also, that you can´t really "ignore" those trolls, because 1.) The sound isn´t muteable (only when you mute the whole sound of the game) and 2.) it´s shown up in the same box, where your allies write something :mrgreen:

Yea, would be cool. it could be done by typing: "/mute all" "/mute player" or "/ignore x"
or by button like this, simple and fast: Image

This option is good too, when you dont want to "hear" chat that players arrange unrelated to the game. But still if player /mute all, other players if not ignored can whisper, or team whisper ( if not ignored )

Isn't vote to lobby and kick/ban option enough to avoid a player who behaves like this? I really wouldn't like to play with a player, who's insulting anyone during the whole match.

But about other players chatting in their own languages... A mute option would be nice, if we don't want to interrupt them. Or ability to select several players in chat, that we can talk to (so ability to create own group chat).

That isn´t really a help. If one player is annonying only you for example, why like 4-5 players would vote to go back to lobby and kick him, just to get a new problem (finding a new player) with a mute button there is no problem. The flamer should flame and you enjoy your game and don´t know about anything what he is writing :wink:

There should be mute based on player IP and nick why ip because that could help with someone who change names and have static ip so he will be muted forever and also muted player list should be saved in a file like muteplayers.dat

Exactly :)) kick/ban option is more invasive than mute but the result is the same :)

This is way too complitcated. It´s the same thing like with Gameaccounts. My idea was just to mute all (for every game) or mute a single player in the current lobby/game, until you leave the lobby. That is simple in comparision with your idea about IP blocking :P

Another idea for the Multiplayerlobby: Change "Ask for password, then check if space" to "Check if enough space, and ask then for password". It´s really annoying sometimes when you have to put a 10 letters long password and after that, the game tells you that the Lobby was full anyway :mrgreen:

How about a commands for debug menu F11 i mean commands like turn on or off some of for example AI settings something like dynamics scripts that can be run for test any time in sp.

I think spectators shouldn't be able to press ready button. I mean they should be always set ready. :D If it will be that way they can go afk easily without being kicked when players return to lobby while spectator is afk. I hope you get my point :P.

We discussed that already some weeks ago. I had a point against it: Just think of it: You join a lobby and exactly in this second the host pressed "Start". Now:
A.) Maybe you didn´t want to spectate this game and just wanted to leave the lobby
B.) Maybe the players didn´t want to let in such a "lagging" person, so they have to get back to the lobby and kick this guy (Maybe another will join, so you have to set password etc.)

I think it´s perfect how it is now: Autoready for specs, when you return to lobby and "keep ready" when host is chaning map/settings :mrgreen:
