wattage and internet traffic.

can the pc handle the traffic, is your connection good enough to handle it all? global server or english only?

200W power core adds up to a few dollars a month, provided 24/7 operation.

then, how familer are you with running that type of thing? im not at all...

Power will cost nothing, it's an old computer, barely uses power, and my parents would be paying it anyway
20Mbit/3Mbit internet (flatrate, no limit except 'reasonable use') - and it's only for a lobby how much traffic could that be? Some few megs per day I think..

I'm familiar enough, I run a server for Halo CE and I wrote my own webserver for fun (when you download TKE test releases it's actually from that program on the computer I'm posting from now)

Is there any possibility if they don't want to give us the source we could ask for the server for online gameplay. If someone can get a running server, maybe they wil get more money for the game.
I know how to do this, I just need someone to provide a DirectPlay device GUID for me now. Please read the 'KaM online' topic.

And how will we get that GUID.. did it ever have one? If not, we might have the make one, which is easy, but we'd also have to make it work, which I don't know anything about.
Does it work if you just assign a random new GUID to it and use that?

It needs to be the GUID for an existing device, it's not KaM, the KaM GUID I made is working, but I need to find out a GUID for a "DirectPlay device" which I did not manage to find in the registry.

It's for Address.Device, something for connecting.

Thank you for your help. We have everything but the "device" that it asks ready :D

Look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DirectPlay

We almost have everything that is there, the "applications", "service providers", etc. but can't find "devices"

Maybe you manage to find it :D

They're supposed to be empty if you don't have a voice compressor installed,
however you will see some 'service providers' etc. subkeys that do have
some values, we are looking for the same thing but instead of 'service
providers', 'devices', which is the only thing we need (hopefully) for the KaM
online server I made to work.

Nope, sorry, I looked at that already...

The C++ version is completely different and much more complicated.

Well, thank you :P But I have all that you included there.

I think that althought all the other stuff was in that subkey,
the 'devices' thing might be somewhere else or with a weird name.

Might be somewhere in a subkey which is related to connections,
IPs and stuff.
