@Ben: Expelling resources is planned in a future. We haven't had much work put into it yet because thats a lot of work to refactor the way deliveries work.

I have another idea: When playing multipalyer, very rare to people play free-for-all, and 1v1 is rather rare, too. Mostly, it is 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4. This is my favorite way to play, but, regrettably, the option to use "random locations" is basically worthless. However, what if we could place a team on a location? Then a random person from that team will be placed on that location. That way, random locations will be possible in team games :)

So one team would have one side of the map, and the other the other, and you wouldn't know which player of your team would be in a certain position assigned to your team? That sounds interesting.

Krom and I discussed this once, but we couldn't think of a nice way to make the interface. The only idea I can think of is a checkbox "randomize locations within teams" so players do select locations but get randomly swapped with team members. Does anybody else have any ideas?

I think it would be a very useful feature since random locations are fun and most games are team based not free for all. Other people have requested this feature for quite a long time.

I got another idea for replays, maybe it is a nice idea to see the distribution of wares for each player just like you can see the statistics of how many buildings and citizens they have? since i am really curious about that sometimes.

This is what I was thinking. I don't think that it would look ugly or anything. It's normal for RTS games to have lots of checkboxes for various settings. At the moment, The Remake only has one, so I think that there is room to spare. ;)

Also note that when you "check" the "Randomize teams" (probably need different, better, description), the map shows the team color of the first person on that team for all players on that team.

(Oh, I got the extra room down there at "Game options", by moving the "Build map", "Fight map", etc. selection up. There was spare room at the top.)

While at it, could we also change the checkboxes into "real" UI elements, instead of text-renders of "[ ]" and "[x]"?

@HAH: The "randomize within teams" should be somewhere close to team/locations setup. It's kind of unexpected to have the 2 related options in different sections.

We need a nice new graphics for checkboxes, I have some ideas, but dont have time to make the sketch. Should be like a "Demolish" cross, but much smaller. The button looks strange ..

IMO that looks fine.

I agree about checkboxes, an 'X' would suit KaM best. We just need to make the icon and change how it is painted (I remember discussing this ~4 years ago with Krom, we used [x] as a temporary solution and never got around to changing it)
