Publishing such a tool is pointless from beginning till the end. And it's also a hacking tool.

The Barbarians whish was that I don't publish the tool, if he leave the community and I accept it.

Which use have this tool? I think nothing.

Hi TK,
The point of this tool is mainly so people can customise the briefings/ingame messages.
This is no more a hacking tool than the map and mission editors that you don't seam to mind.
Lewin.

You did already have a tool to edit the briefings.
Now we got one too.
Fitting, isn't it?

If there already was such a tool, I don't see any reason why it should be dissallowed. It's good to have some more.

That's an ultimate argument!

Congratulations The Dark Lord, you have left The Knight speechless in an argument about KaM "hacking"!!!!! :D (unless you count pffft as speech. Maybe it's some German word...) You should get a medal....

Seriously though, just because you start a fan site doesn't mean you can go around making your own tools and then abusing people when they try to do the same!!!!!! Do you think you are better than us and so you "deserve" to have a tool and we don't??? Your attitude is not very fitting for community based internet forums. We are meant to help each other, that's the whole idea. Do you understand that concept? What if Krom and me didn't publish our tools so that no one (including you) but us could make maps/missions??
Are you going to ban us all from your fan site now? (like you have in the past with other users who you say are "hacking") Because we are trying to help other people enjoy a great game? For example, take that Greek guy who wants to translate the program. Thanks to me he will be able to now. (and no thanks to you I might add) Or The Dark Lord, who wants to complete his great campaign by adding in-game messages and briefings. Do you think that these people should be denied access to do this?? Do you think that both of those things are "hacking"?? And why, BTW, isn't making a map/mission with the editors HOSTED ON YOUR SITE "hacking"?????

Anyway, back to my editor.
I haven't changed much since the last shoutbox post. For the benifit of people who don't check the shout box here is a list of changes:
- The crash bug when opening a file with a blank string is now fixed. (such as the Dutch text.lib) Reported by Thunderwolf.
- The boxes in the later strings of setup.lib have been removed. They basically mean a space as far as I can see so I've added some code to replace them with spaces. Reported by Krom.
- I've added a system to automatically add new lines with a maximum number of chars per line. Requested by The Dark Lord.
- Many little improvements and niceties to the GUI that you will have to find yourself.
Download 0.6:

Please report bugs.
@TK: The fact that you disapprove of this tool is NOT a bug so you do not need to report that any more. I think this issue has been resolved by the sheer weight of numbers.
Sorry for such a whopping post,
Lewin.

@ TK, you say you had promised TB that those hackingtools never would be published. But why you still keep that promise when we maker our tools. He didn't wanted his tools to be published, but these are made by others. Was there more than the story we heard when he left?

Make what you want, but don't forget to show the source code of the game! Its one of Lewin best Features!

Can you also answer this question? Or will this always be a secret?

Hiding the source code is pointless from the beginning untill the end. Everyone knows it already, so there is no need for that.
