I think you should increase amount of stone on loc 1,2,6 and 8. I seen often loc 2 or 6 no stone after 70-80 min. Loc 1 and 8 also have low. i Think minimum 1100 each loc should be good change.
Yes I thought of that. Sometimes people complain that they have no stone left, but when I watched back the replay they all still had some left. Of all the games I played here I never saw anyone out of stone completely. So I've decided to leave it this way, atleast for now.
Its intersting. Probably all games last less than 90 mins. I used almost all stone on loc 2 last time on this map and game was only 80 mins.

Hello,

I had several requests to improve the looks on my first map lately so I decided to make an update. In general: all mountains have been redone and almost all other terrain has been elevated. Total amount of fish is reduced to 530 (was 780) and I removed many obstacles so its easier to place your troops on the map now (especially in the middle). Furthermore I changed some minor things which are explained below.

Location 1 old version:
Image
new version:
Image
Has 30 more fish to the north-east.
Battle zone to the south is a little bit wider.
Harder to spam towers close to loc 8.

Location 2 old version:
Image
new version:
Image
Has 488 coal on the closest coalfield now (was 415).
Better access to trees on the east.
Better access to trees in the north.
Some more buildingspace to the north and the east.
Goldmountain is wider to prevent archers to shoot over it.
20 extra fish to the north-west.

Location 3 old version:
Image
new version:
Image
A little more buildingspace.

Location 4 old version:
Image
new version:
Image
Better access for stonemasons.
An extra ironmine possible in the south.
Fixed unbuildable ground to the west.
Small amount of extra coal on closest coalfield.
Moved storehouse 2 tiles to the north.

Location 5 old version:
Image
new version:
Image
1114 of coal now (was 1005).
An extra ironmine possible.
40 fish to the south-west.
Moved storehouse 2 tiles to the east.
Harder to spam towers towards loc 4.

Location 6 old version:
Image
new version:
Image
No changes.

Location 7 old version:
Image
new version:
Image
Few more trees to the south.
2 extra ironmines.
Little more buildingspace to the north.
Less coal on the northern coalfield.
More coal on the closest coalfield.

Location 8 old version:
Image
new version:
Image
More buildingspace to the east.
Extra goldmine to the south.
Extra ironmine to the south-east.
Shortcut to trees in the north.
Few extra trees near the storehouse.

Have a nice day,
To

I'm curious to see if removing the steep sand dunes in the center of the map will make the position of the North better or worse. I'm wondering this because I always expected player 2 to get some kind of bonus because of his terrible position, but the very small change in the center might be enough to give the North the bonus it needs :)

EDIT:

To, I just noticed what I don't like about this mountain: Image

At first, I thought it was the shape, but I know you like to make your mountains differently than I do so I didn't say anything before. Now I notice that the mountain has no tile differentiation about it. I think it needs to be fixed, as it not only looks rather plain, but also clashes with the rest of the map ;)

Only the sharp eagle eyes of our oldest map maker in the comunity could see things like this. Thanks. Thats also why I like to show you my maps before posting them :D But even when I see what you mean I'm not bothered by it at all. So if one more person here thinks I should change it I will make an update...

I just have to say the best mapmaker can make a various mountains or hills with one type of tile only  At first i haven't noticed this. GG Ben. (H)
Anyway that little iron hill with 48 ironore on the picture has a bad connected corner. :)
So if one more person here thinks I should change it I will make an update...
Maybe TDL could help in this;P

I like how you make the map little bit elevated. Looks out much better and wilder!

Well yes, I don't like it either. Same story with many of your sTOne mountains (:P). I know it's easy to keep them small that way, but it does not look good in my opinion. However, with this new elevation it's not a very big problem anymore. When they used to be more flat it was way more obvious.
I haven't seen the map in the editor or in the game yet, but from what I can tell: nice improvements. :) It's good to see that such a unique map got the looks that it deserves (I think BitD is my favourite map by you).

Hehe, I half expected TDL to be all like, "No! BitD is a classic! No changes!!!11111" XD

As for the stone, I don't see it as a problem; having all the same tile (probably because it is important for gameplay sometimes). Like TDL said, the changed elevation makes it less noticeable.

Personally, I prefer the previous lake than these mountains, which you did now. The rest of the changes are very good.

At first I was also uncertain, but it really makes more sense. I mean, there is an awful lot of water in these To deserts, don't you think? :D
