Hi

i want to add something to this. Sometimes in multiplayer you don't realise that your allie is being attacked, but after he say so you see it and send your troops. (but most of the time your allie is to Buzzy to say this or put a flag)

Is it possible to get flashes on the minimap and/or a voice saying ''your allie is being attacked'' if this happening?

Your ally is too busy to take two seconds to put a flare down? If so, then he isn't even capable of basic computer playing, or is a terrible communicator. If I got flashes or voices for when my ally is being attacked, I'd just be annoyed. Especially because I'm not going to sit and watch my ally attack so while my screen is focused elsewhere, I keep getting notifications. VERY annoying!

A small little thing that bugs me from time to time. When you build a house with its entrance right above a tree, you can't see if the worker is idle or working, if he has received or produced wares, ... I find this a bit annoying. Anyway, when a man builds a house, I'm pretty sure he's going to cut the tree away that blocks his entrance :P Could this be changed that as soon as the building goes up, a tree covering a building's entrance gets removed?
Also, sometimes (but not always) in these situations, even if you have a Woodcutter within reach, they will ignore the tree and not cut it down at all.

I don't find that annoying at all. Most buildings have more clues that show if the worker is idle or not; which is smoke from the chimney in your case.
Oh, and the woodcutters does cut the tree. He must have been out of range for you.

Nono, I'm very sure that I've seen situations where a tree stands under a building like I described, and a Woodcutter is absolutely within range, and the tree still does not get cut for some reason, even if the option "Only cutting" is selected.

I found this out when I was trying to completely clear an area from trees. The Woodcutter had cut all the other trees, except for the one under the building and the Woodcutter was just standing idle there endlessly. Unfortunately, I didn't save a picture from it, but I've even seen it happen in games after that (mostly single player, but of course always KAM Remake).

It's not THAT big of an issue, I agree with you completely, but it's just a minor thing that annoys me. I'm pretty sure this is just me though :P

Perhaps it was a tree that cannot be cut?

It was one of those bright green Pine trees if I'm not mistaken. I'll look out for similar situations to pop up and remember to take a picture of it then :)

Surely I can't be the only one to have seen this though?

In the editor you can make disapear items. Maybe this can add also in the game?

Disappear items? Please be more specific.

Now that you mention it, krisdw, I think that I actually have experienced this is Back in the Desert location three. I'm not entirely sure though. I ran several tests but I can't find a scenario where a woodcutter is afraid of knocking a tree down on a house :P

The biggest of the pine (spruce) trees cannot be cut, there's no animation for it falling down (that's how it was in KaM too). Maybe it was that tree? Having a tree in front of a house should not prevent it from being cut down.

In case you don't understand which one Lewin and I are referring to, this is the "largest pine" tree.

It could have been that one :) mystery seems solved!

Elementary, my dear Watson!

Also, please note that the desert/jungle palms are not cutable either. Those trees also take up room for potential cutable trees, so placing your woodcutter near them is a very bad mistake.

About the trees before buildings I'm completly against doing anything with them. I find it charming, it adds character to the building otherwise looking all the same.

And about that tree.... you've got to be kiddin' me. Well, you never end to learn about this game, I'd never take notice, especially since there's no falling animation shown in the editor now (it's good btw, just saying). Well, seam like I have to edit my map once again, this is getting ridicilous

I am very surprised that so many people don't know about this. No offence, but I thought that it was basic KaM knowledge, but now I am beginning to see that I am wrong. Maybe we need a "warning" section somewhere with this tree included :P
