Can you add a number of teams with nicknames in the statistics menu? Or, for example, to add different background colors for nicks, lest they create an additional column with the number of teams.

We plan to lay out the teams in menu in a more obvious way :)

Improvment #3: POLISH TRANSLATION
In polish translation there are few "military mistakes".
Since I'm Polish, I'd like to write a few words about Wicia's ideas. I'm not a weapon enthusiast, like Wicia, but I'd try to look at it from esthetical point of view.
- Kuźnia płatnerska (Weapon smithy) ---> Warsztat kowalski (Smithy)
>> WHY? Adjective "płatnerska" means that there are produced plate armors...
That idea is ok, I think, I'd only slightly change it to Warsztat Kowala.

Btw, have you noticed the translation for Weapon Workshop? Warsztat Płatnerzy. So I think, that in priority of translators, was to use easy intuition. You make light weapons in Weapons Workshop (Warsztat Płatnerski) and you make heavy weapons in Weapons Smithy (Kuźnia Płatnerska).
- Kuźnia zbroi (Armour smithy) ---> Płatnerz (Armourer)
>> WHY? For me it sounds strange and the "Kuźnia zbroi" is misguided.
I suppose, that it's a production of shields what misguides you. Well, I think it's only a minor mistake. Correct version should probably be "Kuźnia uzbrojenia", which is too long for me. Płatnerz may be okay, but be aware, that a lot of people get already used to that, somehow wrong, translation. But I can live with that :).
- Lanca (Lance) ---> Włócznia (Spear)
>> WHY? Lance looks like 5 meters long toothpick while spear has about 2 meters long and its
spearhead looks like slim deltoid (like in game :)
It sounds more logical, when you produce "Lanca" and you equip "Piechur z lancą". Have you got any other ideas for Lance Carrier translation? Cause "Włócznik" doesn't fit for me.
- Pikinier (Pikeman) ---> Halabardnik (Halberdier)
>> Halberdiers are carring halberds (combination of spear and axe). What is interesting
in every medieval - based warfare strategy game Halberdiers are confused with Pikemen
(e.g in Stronghold).
Pikinier is easier to pronounce :).
- Piechur z lancą (Lance Carrier) ---> Włócznik (Spearman)
>> WHY? Lance Carriers are carring spears, not lances...
Still, Włócznik just does not sound right...
- Piechur z mieczem (Sword Fighter) ---> Zbrojny (Armored One)
>> WHY? It's simplier and shorter... ;)
NO. Zbrojny or Miecznik won't fit. Piechur z mieczem is long, I agree, but it's more sophisticated and dignified. And you have long production chain, so long name fits just right :).

But most of all, we should all remember, that KaM does not pretend for "Most Realistic Game" title.
It's just for fun, I can live with few mistakes in translations, if only they sound right.
Personally, I like that some things in game are simplified and based on intuition. With that, you can focus on gameplay.

Personally, I'd vote for Miecznik since that's what we (Polish people) use while speaking about swordfighters (no one really says "Piechur z mieczem" anyway... we either say "Miecznik" or just use the English "Swordfighter", even while speaking Polish). About other words, I don't think a change is necessary.

Yeah the same thing is in english. No one talk about Swordfighters anymore. Everybody call them Swordfishes.

I think soldiers shouldn't be kept alive when the barracks is destroyed, maybe it would slow rushes a bit down, it can ruin a game.

What do you think about controlling the whole army in battle (not just archers and crossbow) ... to be able to withdraw

A spear is a weapon that looks like the lance in KaM, but you throw it ;) So the "spearman" name would be "incorrect"
I can't agree with it in 100%. You can use spear as throwing weapon but generally it was used as melee weapon. Javelin was this special kind of spear which was used as throwing weapon.
And probably "Miecznik" would be a better name for the swordfighter (afaik it literally means swordfighter, doesn't it?)
Yep, you are absolutely right :) And now interesting detail: "Miecznik" is a polish word for "Swordfish" :P You should add this fish as a special troop :-D
pikeman is an "armored one" as well
In polish "armored one" is some kind of soldier who is armed with heavy armor, helmet, shield and all this "heavy stuff" :) So this association is as clear as crystal :P
#1: For me javelin means the stuff people throw on for example the Olympics (and the weapon used against tanks in the CoD series). Probably you are right, tho :P
#2: http://knightsandmerchants.net/forum/vi ... =24&t=1636
#3: So it means "heavily armored" or stuff like that? Then okay :D

As I've been making many KaM shoutcasts lately, I have an important request: I'd like to be able to hide the game clock when watching replays. When watching a shoutcast, review, commentary, etc. of a game, it is often more exciting when you don't know who the winner will be. In addition, the possibility of a comeback can add excitement or intensity. However, when one team is being badly beaten in a shoutcast, and there are only three minutes left on the clock, it is clear who will win. Verily, it is often easy to determine the victor by examining the clock/gametime. It is very hard to ignore the amount of time left in the replay, espically because of the green/blue bar that shows how much time has passed. It is for these reasons that I believe that it should be possible to hide the clock.

We could probably arrange an option to hide the clock. But won't you still have the same problem from the time remaining on the Youtube video? If there's only 2 minutes of the shoutcast remaining then you know it's about to end.

It's much easier to ignore the Youtube video length because the progress bar hides after loading the video. I do this when watching commentary of AoK :)

@Ben: Maybe you could overlay the replay timer area with a nice logo or something ;)

Ben, not sure if your shoutcasting software supports it, but how about just covering the replay timer with your own face view from a webcam? xD

Back to the idea of changing the polish translation a bit.
The thing that I never understood was, why the Knight isnt called like in german also just "rycerz". Instead of that, joymania or someone else decided to translate it as "heavy drives" (scouts are called "lightly drive"). So it looks like they didnt translated it just to nice/correct army words, which is idd sad....

I think they might've translated "Cavalry" a bit literally..
