and you even answered it

Oh right, sorry I've been answering a lot of emails and I didn't notice it was you
Hey, one question. What is about the older idea with the password for the online lobby/ private matches?!
Yes we'll add a way to put a password on your lobby. It should be on the list already. (I remember discussing it before)

Ah ok, fine. But to the next public update it will be not finished?

Again about the reconnecting system.
Senario: Someone leaves the kam game, then the game is saved and rehosted.
Even if they upload the game and pass it on to another player to take the place of the one who left, the new player wont be able to play, because when he chooses locations, the player who quit's location will be called "Unknown" and he will have no team. THAT HAPPENS BECAUSE THE GAME WAS SAVED AFTER THE PLAYER LEFT.
Is there a way to fix that? I know you guys are full of projects to do now, but its just another thing that needs done

This is not correct, I also tested it to confirm. The only way a player can be called "Unknown" like that is if you load a save without him then save it again and go back to the lobby. In your scenario, you can still select that player. (try it yourself by running two windowed copies) There is nothing wrong with saving after someone quits, but if you start the game without them they will become unknown.
I don't think I explained it clearly so here's the scenario which makes a player become "Unknown":
1. Game is started.
2. Game is saved and players return to the lobby (it doesn't matter if someone quit before the save was made)
3. "Player A" has not returned, but the other players start without him anyway.
4. Game is saved and players return to the lobby again.
5. "Player A" returns, and his slot will now be marked as "Unknown".
@Pawel: I don't understand what you wrote.

Ah I see now, thanks.
No it won't be done for the next release, it doesn't seem like a priority to me. You can always kick people or tell them it is a private game. I want to get the next version released as soon as possible, this feature would be quite a lot of work and would delay the release. But we will do it eventually.

I had this idea for more advanced players who use shortcuts instead of the panel on the left in game. Would it be possible to hide/unhide the panel, excluding the mini-map. It might be a stupid idea, but this way, as an advanced player, you can see more of the terrain. And you wouldn't need the panel anyway.
It's just an idea that came up. I posted it only moments after, so I didn't think about this very well.
I guess it'd be a lot of work?

Or you just zoom out?

Wouldn't that look weird? I mean, you'd get an enlarged mini-map, as far as I understand. I don't know. Maybe.

Maybe you don't understand, I usually zoom out so I can maintain overview of the game, in the Remake of course.
It looks a bit weird, sometimes you can't see if the laborer is starving or he just wants to build.

Yeah, I didn't quite understand, but I meant with hiding the panel that you could see a wider view, without the zooming out. You wouldn't have your screen filled with functions you don't need. I mean, when you use a lot of shortcuts, and the panel is used one time of the billion times you command your troops and so on, then the panel would be unnecessary, and would block your view. I think. So when you could hide the panel, and the chat function would move to the left with it, you would have a wider view, without having to zoom out. It's just an idea, I wouldn't know if it'd work, but it might be a function some people would like. If you don't like playing without the panel, then just don't hide it. You know?
I hope I explained what I wanted to explain, without confusing people.

I think we might need more shortcuts before doing that. About the only thing you can do without the panel is command troops, all village stuff requires the panel. I guess you're using a small resolution because on my 1920x1080 screen you really don't need the extra width. You could try playing on a higher resolution if your screen supports it.
Also we'd need to make it fairly obvious because otherwise new players would get very confused. So when the panel is hidden there should be a button on the left side of the screen to make it come back. If it was just some shortcut then a new player could press that by mistake and have no way of playing or quitting the game.
Does anyone else think this would be a useful feature? I can't see myself using it, but maybe that's because of my resolution.

Knights and Merchants is a pretty slow game and I don't think you will need shortcuts to control everything. Especially control of your village with shortcuts seems completely unnecessairy to me, as you have to wait untill wares are brought to a specific building or building site or untill labourers finished a building. Fast actions are not required when managing your village.
A possibility to control your army more easily would be welcome though. But as far as I know that has already be planned: SHIFT + number to make a group, then press the number to select the group? Something like that I guess. That acually made me think of something else: CTRL + LEFT MOUSE to select multiple groups at the same time? Then you could use SHIFT + number to make a group with more batallions.
Edit: On the other hand it could be useful to hide the panel when you have to focus on a battle. Then again you still wouldn't need shortcuts for your town (you're focusing on the battle, right?!

)
Btw, I've now really seen the reconnect function into action so I can now confirm that I like it.

I don't think thats a needed feature. With Remake working at any resolutions (maximized window) and zoom, it would make next to no sense.
Maybe this feature would be useful in battles on small screens .. but again - building a town (which is more than half of the SP game) needs the panel.
So if anyone (Kridge?) makes a tower-defense KaM on portable iPads or iPhones - yes, that would probably be a handy feature

For Remake - no, almost no value.
