@Ben: We have such suggestion in our todo list and we thought about that. The only problem is that house names are not easy to add properly, because of translations.

For example in Russian, the house name should have different ending and words around it. Let me show an example:

Ферма. Эта Ферма не занята.
Дом рыбака. Этот Дом рыбака не занят.

Similar things might happen in other languages too. So we need a clever way of either choosing different templates (hello i18n) or construct a sentence in that way it does not depends on house name. Advice from translators are needed too.

It's a bit sloppy, but what if the format was like this "This house requires an occupant (Animal Breeder)"? Does this work better across languages?

In Polish it can be solved in two ways, either "e.g. Mill is not occupied" as "Młyn nie ma gospodarza". So the only change is to use house name instead of "This house". But then there is no indicator "this", but I don't see it as a problem (some houses would need different indicitators, masculine and feminine). The other way could be "This house is unoccupied (Swine Farm)" in Polish it would be "Ten budynek nie ma gospodarza (Chlew)".

Another idea (sorry for going off the current idea at hand): In AoK, these is a handy feature called "Friend or Foe colors" that could be enabled in the settings. Essentially, it makes it easier to tell who is a friend or foe. In AoK, if this feature was turned on, the players units would be blue, enemy units would be red, and allies would be yellow (neutral would be grey, but that's kinda irrelevant). I think that it would be nice to have this in The Remake, too :) (maybe the players units should be red since that is the way it is in the campaign :))

@Ben: Good idea, we had that in our minds for the minimap, but having it for a global is also good, what do you think?
Some kind of a toggle button near the edge of the minimap.

I'd prefer it to be a checkbox in the "settings" menu (and in-game toolbar).

Another idea: Can we be able to access settings in the map editor? I never understood why it's disabled there :P

Checkbox in setting is too far away IMHO.

Because KaM never had MapEd and we invented it from grounds up (well, in fact KMR was made FROM MapEd xD), so anyways - we just didn't got any requests to add settings into MapEd ;)
So whihc ones would you like to have there?

Not if you look at Friend/Foe colors as being a global option. For toggling the minimap colors only I can understand but I feel that in the settings toolbar is very appropriate for global color changes.

I never listen to the music in KaM, but when I did I thought it was annoying that I had to exit the editor to turn it on. Others are having this same issue; I'm sure. Also, it would be nice to change scroll speed and sfx volume as well.

I can attest that accessing music/sound/scroll options would be welcome in the MapEd.

Regarding the colors, personally I would like to have a checkbox in the options to specify default behavior and also an option to toggle it ingame. Also I'd say that minimap colors and unit/flag colors should always correspond.

@Krom: Now that our GUI pages are separated into different units, maybe we can simply "plug in" the settings menu used in the game interface? ;)

@Lewin: I'm not sure where I left those pages. They might be still embedded into GameplayInterface. Anyway, ingame settings menu is not that complicated, we can copy/paste it without much trouble, like we did for all other MapEd menus code.

Can you add some sound start the game (or 3,2,1)? because when I minimized the window, the game starts without my knowledge. The sound would be good for the start of the game.

He means the game. In a lobby. When everyone clicks on Ready and starts the game. :x

I give ready and waiting for the other players. At this time I am doing something else, such as reading forum. I'm going back to the lobby and the game already started earlier. Sound information would be a good start of the game.
