Well, i like Bowmen the most. you can make them in a jiffy. In peasants rebellion mission 4, all you need is about 30 axe men and 50 achers to take down an army of 500 men.

My choice is pikemen.

You can use them deadly against horse units, with or without ranged units (archers/crossbowmen).
It's also quite strategic combination against leather army (with ranged units of course), sword fighters aren't needed and you don't have to think how to arrange melee/horse killing units, just make sure your archers don't get killed. Pikemen take care of the rest, whether there are axemen or scouts (no doubt about the lance carriers...).

In the end, I think sword fighters are actually the only problem for pikemen.
Pikemen beat lance carriers, horse units (ranged units when they can catch the ranged group) and axemen: yes, axemen hit as good as pikemen but the armour is again the important thing which dictates the battle results.

And as Siegfried explained, it seems pikemen are nearly as strong as barbarians (well, barbarians may hit you much better but they die first as they have bad armour).

I voted a long time ago but forgot to write a comment >.<

Well anyway I like knights most (at least i THINK I voted for knights  ). Like Lewin I go by looks but if for voice...maybe catapults?
lol well it really doesn't matter I like all the voices execpt for...ARCHERS! I totally agree with Lewin on that subject. From the days when I used to have SR3 on my computer (I took it off since It made the game shut off like before I got SR2) I liked the Warriors voice, whoever it was who made it did a good job. Anyway, I was just thinking of how I don't have the voice for my Crossbowmen anymore, which stinks. Could someone send me a PM with a crossbowman voice folder in it? Thanks.

Well my experience with barbarians are that they always manage to kill at least 1 or more of my army before they die. I always keep a small army because if i make alot i would have problems with food. Thats why i hate barbarians.
I agree Pikemen is strong, but Swordfightters pwn, they can defeat everybody except for the barbarian.
