Once again, great work!

I like the way that bowmen fight :D (yeah, I know that's just not implemented, but still funny).

Some bugreports and suggestions from me. Ignoring most of the editor bugs, as it's incomplete.

- music player no longer works for me (on included track, Realtek HD), no problem with the other sounds
- menu buttons don't work in replay mode - the only way to quit it is to use F11 menu
- replays last forever
- (know that the mission editor is mostly incomplete, but anyway) Citizens, beside serfs and laborers, can be placed only on roads
- Briefings: on fullscreen (1366*768) the message jumps over the right edge of the screen, so it's only partially visible, it keeps on screen on 1024*768 in windowed mode
- I'd add "Width" and "Height" in the map size selection screen.

And, where are the strings kept? The new one are not in the .libs.

Hello everyone, remember me? I haven't been doing much on the project for a while, but today I committed a few minor changes and answered some of Krom's questions. Over the past few months Krom has done an amazing job fixing the small but annoying bugs in the fighting and unit interaction as well as adding the replay feature which will be invaluable in bug fixing. I had nothing to do with these latest changes, I haven't committed any work in ages until today. I feel inspired again and I think I will find time to work on the project a bit now.
- music player no longer works for me (on included track, Realtek HD), no problem with the other sounds
Not sure why this might be, (I have the same thing) perhaps Krom knows?
- menu buttons don't work in replay mode - the only way to quit it is to use F11 menu
- replays last forever
- Briefings: on fullscreen (1366*768) the message jumps over the right edge of the screen, so it's only partially visible, it keeps on screen on 1024*768 in windowed mode
All added to the bugs list
- (know that the mission editor is mostly incomplete, but anyway) Citizens, beside serfs and laborers, can be placed only on roads
- I'd add "Width" and "Height" in the map size selection screen.
Both fixed now. Indeed the editor is not intended to really be used yet.
And, where are the strings kept? The new one are not in the .libs.
The new strings are written in the source code, so they're in the EXE file. We plan to add a new LIB file with all of the additional text, but as everything is changing and being added so rapidly during the development, we decided to do this later on. For now beta testers will have to put up with having the new strings in English, but I don't worry, we do plan to make it all translated eventually.

Please report bugs and make suggestions, we are keen for your feedback! :)
Lewin.

Well, the music player didn't work for me either, but when i turned the music up in options, it worked well.

And another annoying thing is, were are the sound files?
I looked in the LOG file and saw:
Speech file not found for Scout sound ID 10: C:\Users\[Name removed]\Desktop\KaM_Remake_Economy_Demo_20100813\data\Sfx\Speech.eng\CAVALRY\DEATH0.wav

I gotta try to use TSK soundfiles lol...

Another thing i've discovered is that... Game crashes alot, especially with "range check error", when i get that message, i have no choice but to restart KaM Remake. (With ctrl+alt+del.)

Sincerely, Sebrav.

@Lewin: I am happy to see you again:D

the biggest thing that brings me back to these forums is to check the state of the remakes.

- While destroying a building, soldier can start attacking a citizen walking nearby - he should do that only with soldiers.

I noticed a bug - or rather two bugs - in the fighting system. Sorry I didn't keep the replay.

I had a single knight attacking a single bowman. The knight did one attack, the same time the archer did one. Then both died simultaneausly after their attack.

i) the knight should have 4 lifepoints, so he should have survived the fight, even if the bowmans attack was successful.
ii) why can both units die the same time? Usually the defender starts his attack a short period earlier, so if his attack was successful, the attacker dies before he can launch his attack.

Maybe these observations can help you find the bug.

Another little thing I noticed:
when I send my troops from A to B, the begin marching. If I want to send them to another place C while they march, they continue marching to B first and then to C insted of changing their way to C immediately.

so long

I got the same problem. i was just logging in so i could report... that wasn't necesary.

And that wiped my army. (It was kinda a weak army to test the editor) no replay sorry.

@kuba11100: Thats obviously a flaw. We'll fix that, thanks for report :)

@Siegfried: I'm not sure, but it could be that archers attack like some other units (i.e. knights). We'll check that and hopefully fix in next release. It is possible though, that very rarely, both units do a critical hit and die - that could happen in real-life. We'll check marching commands, thanks :)

Speech file not found for Scout sound ID 0: C:\Program Files (x86)\KaM Remake\data\Sfx\Speech.eng\CAVALRY\SELECT0.wav
Is the log supposed the be full of these?

Also, I'm getting quite a lot of access violation's in battles.

EDIT:
Well, the music player didn't work for me either, but when i turned the music up in options, it worked well.
I have this issue too. It only starts working by moving the sound or music sliders.

Bugfixing status:

Fixed:
+ Rock throwing uses wrong alliance setting
+ Map editor won't let you place citizens off roads
+ Map editor main menu labels 'Width' x 'Height'
+ Masked edit allows for unlimited size
+ Scroll wheel now functions correctly on filelist and updates the scrollbar position
+ Zooming with the scroll wheel now only works when over the map (not a control)
+ Briefings: on fullscreen (1366*768) the message jumps over the right edge of the screen
+ "Unit walk not fRouteBuilt" error. (Issue 28)
+ Clicking on anything during gameplay will shift viewport a little

Known:
- Occupied tile has no unit on it (Issue 27)
- StoneMines mission in r977 crashes on 39min for some delivery being performed twice
- Send troops from A to B, they start walking. If send them to C while they walk, they continue walking to B first and then to C instead of changing their way to C immediately.
- While destroying a building, soldier can start attacking a citizen walking nearby - he should do that only with soldiers
- Menu buttons in replay don't work, no way to exit other than F11
- Message should be displayed when replay reaches end (e.g. replay complete, would you like it to continue?)
- Dots and lines displaying on tile edges. For an example go to town tutorial, reveal entire map, go to the chasom (black with bridge) and scroll past it. 1px dots and lines of color appear through out it. It happens on other terrain but it's most noticable there.

Unknown/unconfirmed
- Music doesn't work

P.S. Feedback is welcome

You need to unpack all of the files from the package into a new folder and launch EXE from there.

I did unpack it, but alas it does not work. Windows 7, perhaps?
