Shouldn't there be a pause button?? it is very useful, specially after peace time, if someone in the team has the need to pause for a while. It could be something like this: someone presses pause, and if all players on the same team vote yes, pause the game, else, the game does not pause. After something like 3/4 minutes anyone from any team can unpause it if they wish, while before that only a player from the team that paused it could do that. I've seen this system in other games, and i think "pausing" is specially needed in kam.

Another thing i hate is the lack of communication between players that aren't on the same lobby. I don't know how the multiplayer system works, but i think it should be possible to "whisper" to another user that is in another lobby. Maybe a list on the main multiplayer lobby selection menu, with all the players online, so that you could select which one and talk to him(her)?? For example, today, i had been trying to get into a proper game for ages, and there were like 5 people online, so someone created a 3v3 game and closed the other two slots. Then, for some reason I quit the lobby to see if there was any other lobby and I find that there wasn't, but the lobby i just left was full. If I could, i would have whispered to the host to unlock more slots and make a 4v4 game, but I couldn't. This is just one of the many situations i have experienced like this, and i would be glad for a solution... I think other people have had similar issues.

Pausing multiplayer will be added, but as you can see it's hard to decide how it should be done. In most RTS games I've played only the host is allowed to pause, or there is an option in the lobby "clients may pause" if you want clients to be able to pause too. It's on the todo list.

We've discussed adding a global chat to the multiplayer page, so you can chat with people before you all join a room. The chat would take the place of the announcements (the announcement would be the initial text in the chat) The problem is hosting it. Using a service like IRC or Jabber would probably be easiest, and probably not too hard to host. (hopefully there's free options like our IRC channel on the KaM Remake website)
We might also make the chat be usable when you're in the lobby, there would be a button on the side that makes it pop up.
It's just an idea for now, but we recognise the need.

Today I have small problem, because I'm half Belarussian, but I have to play under polish flag.
And here I have a question: Does idea "Country flags" talk about add next option, where I can choose my country?

At the moment country flags are there to show your native language (the language you can speak in chat). We don't have Belorussian language support, but we will be happy to add it if someone makes the fonts/translations :)

Actually we don't need special fonts for Belarussian because it uses the Windows-1251 codepage (standard Cyrillic) that Litude so kindly made for SR3. All that would need to be done is translating the text.

I'll try translate this game to belarussian language, s'il vous plaît, just send me a text files. But I have to told you: I don't talk in belarussian every day, so I will maybe make some mistakes ;). And I have next question. "Standard cyrylic" has "і" and "ў"?

I think I'm not only one, who wanna play under national flag.
1. Last time I played with someone, who had British flag, but he didn't understand anything I said.
2. The most of Belarussians will choose their national, russian, language, so they will play with russian flag anyway.

Maybe in the settings of multiplayer sarver add choice of game speed
-normal -game speed without any change
-fast-game is 2x faster

I think that 2x speed is still reasonable(well maybe 1.5x faster) speed to paly KaM.
what do you think?

Yes, there are these letters in our 1251 codepage :)

Having all ideas about remake in one place is nice, but wouldnt it be better if we had na ideas folder and witin it separate thread for each new idea (new since now). Especially that there is 42 pages disscution about more than 30 mixed. I dont suggest to split this one but to close it and make from it first thred in KaM Remake ideas folder with wonderful up to date summary of all ideas first post.

Yes it would be better to organise the forum like that, but feel that my time is better spent working on the Remake than moderating/managing the forum all the time. If we could get someone trusted from the community to do it that would be nice.
