I have a request. I'm working on a map and I haven't yet decided for how many players it will be. But the map has a destroyed village in the center, and I need a player for that. That means I have only 7 players left... It would be great if we were able to have paths and buildings that belong to no player (like animals) or extra AI players.
I will probably never like the market but your suggestion would absolutely be an improvement.
@GWB: Then it will be a race: first one with gold mine can trade most wood and it will become too expensive for others.

Houses are kind of coupled with Players .. maybe we could play a trick and "assign" noones houses to animals (which are already 9th player) ... ?

Regarding the market, how would people feel if we made it like in Age of Empires where resources become less value as you sell them, and more valuable as you buy them? This means the market can help you out for a short time, but if you keep feeding the same resource into it and buying the same thing, the prices will change and it won't be worth it. I agree it is a bit abusable.
Sounds great, though in Age of Empires there are only four resources you can put in the market. In KaM Remake we have got way more items to fit in there. So the problem of a price raise is quite easy to solve, you can just put something else in there. For instance, you have got too much stone, and you have decided to trade it for some weapons. When stone becomes to expensive, you should be able to continue with gold/wood.
Now that I have mentioned wood, I want to say something which in my opinion is not correct. When trading planks you get the same trading rate as for the tree trunk (boomstam in dutch, don't really know a good translation

). When sawing the trunks I get more out of one tree then trading the trunk. This is quite strange as it seems to me.

Another example off KaM-destruction by the marketplace. Off course the pro players won't use it like this, but it will decrease unadvanced players from getting better in economy games.
I don't know what, but please do something about the marketplace, because it kills the KaM-soul:(

Did he make a big army? and did he win?

That doesn't matter. What does matter is: Did others have fun playing against him?
Seriously, winning obsessions seem to be normal around here, have fun but don't let it be at the costs of others, unless they are wusses.

as i can see in the screen it wont bother other people he doesnt consume their resources at all. So then there will be the question if he played better than others using this strategy.

@Beerzoeper: Let's not force all players into one strategy. It's good to see experiments like this - it allows players to express themselves. As long as there's no unfair advantage it is all ok. Did he won in the end?

No, he lost, but he made with this like 30-40 scouts, without farms, skins, leather, leather armor or stables and overwhelmed his neighbour, we couldn't get there to help him fast enough. But with this 'strategy', your ecomomy is very simple and basic, it has nothing to do with KaM anymore. It just doesn't 'fit' in the game i think.

Everything that affects only your economy and lead to victory is good.
30-40 scouts? Great then, he discovered nice thing for himself - let not bother if he want to be master in his own style.
By the way - mass cavalry is not so hard to counter. :p

An example horses are not everything without other kind of unit:
I found somewhere a pictures with 80horses:) (Replay is also somwhere )
We made before peacetime 40 scouts/player on two another ways (these two are little better way than version of the four market, because the coals arent exhaust).
1: 2 market without stables +with towers
2: 1 market with 2 stables -without towers.
We wanted to make horse rushes:)...but...
opponent had only pikers and archs and milities....

-------->we LOST.
We didnt think it seriously...

just happened...
And i think the market is a very good catalyst of the game. It makes the game more colourful...

Yep. It does make the game more colourful. But another building could be made or selected instead of the market and would also make the game colourful.
Just want to make clear that that is not really an argument.

This isn't a proposal for the game itself, but for the promotion. There are two developers for the mod, which progresses at great speed (and you have my sincerest compliments for it), but there is little promotion. There is a channel, but the last new video it got was three months ago. I would like to help you guys with something, if you could give me some control over the channel. I already have experience with running a community channel (I have
a channel for my forums which I run), and I think that promoting this remake and the forums (somewhat) would really increase the amount of players, and thus help the community out. The channel as of now has 120 subscribers, but if we could increase that number and get more attention for the game, we could get many more players. There are countless people who have this as a childhood game but don't know about the Remake, and if we could get those to play the Remake, it would be pretty awesome.
I already have a global plan for a promo video set up in the Remake subsection, and I'd be very happy if someone could help me with it.

Is it possible to implement boats that can carry units across water?
- The boat could act like a moving building, storing units (army), having health, and allowing drop off/pick up.
It may also allow for more practical use of siege weapons (they could be used to attack other boats, thus possible ocean combat)
If implemented it should be costly to make, the trouble is how to add such an item?
I feel like boats would add a whole new dynamic to the game, and will allow for more interesting map design and battle strategies, however boats would not agree with original campaign maps.

And how do you suppose this will look graphic-wise? I'm sorry to smash your idea but I don't see a way to implement it. KaM maps are pretty small, there is not even enough space for it.
