I wonder, can't you install a forum directly on your webserver?
This forum is really, really slow, and full of annoying ads.
Does your webserver support PHP and MySQL?
If not, I have some free webspace available if you want me to host your forum...?
Just an idea...

i think he hasnt a webserver but just using a free web host...
atfreeforum is a free web host and slow cause more forums r locatede on it and also full of banners (if u dont have adbock plus for FF installed
) cause its free and the company needs money to let those forums stay online.
Am i right real hotdog?

Sorry for the late reply
Anyways, I myself have never experienced too much slowdowns when using these forums, maybe it's because the server has a harder time sending data to The Netherlands or something  As for the ads, as Nick said use AdBlock so you won't see them (I didn't even know they were here
).
To answer your real question, last time I checked, my webhost didn't support either MySQL or PHP (just checked again, and still no support...
) both which to my understanding are required.
For you to host these forums, well personally I haven't had any problems with this forum except that you can't backup the database (pretty bad incase the host disappears). On the other hand I wouldn't have so much against it either if and
only if you feel this is necessary
. In case you really want to do it we'll need to discuss some details at some point.

I use ad blocker too, I really hate flash ads. When I'm at the library I don't have it though. If they were text I wouldn't mind but flash makes me angry. :x It is too distracting with flashing bits and bright colours.
I hate flash!!

They are indeed required, they are both needed for phpBB to work. This host has at least PHP4 and mySQL 5 (Or 4, can't remember).
And by the way, phpBB2.0.x is
old- As in, ancient history. As of January 1st, 2009, no support will be offered for it. Any chance that this place will be upgraded to 3 sometime?

He has a point, my pages get super long because of the pics on the page. On a mobile device, well lets just say it isnt easy to deal with the page on a touchscreen then.
