Red chat close seal

Hi,

the seal (Image) used to close the chat window is too striking. There are alternatives:

Early Middle Ages, only the highest officials used seals. Later, this was taken over by lower 'ranking' officials, such as knights, and even later even the common people used seals. These most official documents look like:

These seals were often made from lead, more common, or gold, very rare and only used by emperors. Then the icon should be of a silverish color with a blue hue or shiny goldish.

During the Middle Ages, as more people started using seals, a need for a cheaper material was needed: this was beeswax. This wax is originally not colored, but later used cinnabar (vermilion) which is the same color red as the current close icon.

Also note that in that time, most documents were signed by sealing a rope hanging from the paper, like seen in all pictures here.

So these are some concepts I've Photoshopped (top, left = original):

I don't like the huge white cross in the left-most top-most, and my favorites are in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th columns. What do you say?

How about topmost second from left, but making white cross just a little smaller?
Would be nice to repaint whole scroll tbh, because now it looks very grim and seal does not fits well to the scrolled corner.

What about this colorness? I also extended it, so it's easier to resize the window (instead of scaling it up, that looks ugly).

I'd say that looks much better. I'd like that in combination with the red seal, with the small cross.

It still looks grim, blurred, noisy and ugly.

upper part does not need that big "heavy" roll, could be much smaller: http://www.vectorstock.com/i/composite/ ... 655932.jpg
with a seal like so: http://3.s3.envato.com/files/33593870/D ... 90X700.jpg

That idea for the seal is very neat. This is what I have now, but I'll try to remake it from scratch now.

Oeh I like it. :D
I don't like the 'Go to' and 'Delete' buttons on this one though; now the colours of the scroll have changed, maybe these should be altered as well?

I actually like it. :) It looks more "old-fashioned," but I agree with what The Dark Lord said about the buttons. They look terrible on the new color.

I like the thinner top rolled edge of the scroll, it's much better now it's not so massive. I like the way you fitted in the seal. My only complaint is that the scroll looks to brightly lit. It looks like someone is shining a spotlight right on it, saturating the brightness (especially the top edge and left side). The color is much better than the old dull grey IMO. Maybe just tone down the brightness/color a bit. To me the right side of the scroll looks ok, but the left side is washed out with a yellow spotlight.

Overall great work though :)

There is really no need to make the header of the scroll that large. It does not add any functionality but only covers part of the screen.

I was wondering, is it possible to make the scroll "close" by lowering it, so it'd have a one or two second transition in which it lowers until it's completely out of the screen?
