Any ideas? I install the game and once it goes through the process I run the program but my computer acts like it isn't installed. So my only option is to install it again. Any ideas?

Browse to the folder where you installed it (e.g. C:\KaM Remake) and start KaM_Remake.exe
The problem might be that we're not adding a shortcut to Metro, I don't actually know how to do that

We add a shortcut to the start menu/desktop if you select it, I don't know if Metro needs shortcuts added a different way or not.

Well as far as i heard windows 8 does not allow you to get in C:\ , so this solution might be not working.

I use windows 8 and got no problem running the remake, I don't remember exactly but I believe it created a metro shortcut automatically (it sometimes does it automatically, that's magic, pretty rare that it doesn't add on even if the installation isn't designed for it).
I have no problem with the C:\ drive of any sort.
Just be sure to check the install folder when you install the remake, then browse to it and make a shortcut or metro shortcut like Lewin said. Try not to install it into the program files folder, might make things work not as expected.

As I know if a shortcut is added to the start menu, in Win 8 it will be accessable through Metro.
It also lets me in to the C drive without any problem. If something is installed to Program Files, it may need administrator right as in Win 7.

Yea Windows 8 and KaM (Remake) don't work as well as with Windows 7. I think that's because Windows 8 doesn't allow access to the system/program files as easy as Windows 7.
I love 7.

I believe the program files limitations are just the same as in windows 7 and even vista, didn't notice any difference yet.

I suppose this isn't the gog.com installer ?
Then try compatibility modes on the installer maybe it will work.
