I was wondering if there is some kind of guide how to add new maps to KaM remake, since I tried to add some new maps, but when I try to play them (by adding them in the MapsMP folder) it crashes the game. I got the maps from the Map Database on here.

Hello, thanks for the quick reply, but as far as I can tell from the explanation I did the correct thing. However, I still get a 'range error' message which makes KaM remake crash for me. I have pasted the folders (and not the contents) into the MapsMP after extracting the zip file. So I really have no idea what I could have done wrong.

Do you have this problem with every map you download?

What version of KaM Remake do you have (see in main menu top-left corner).
What maps did you tried, are they KaM Remake or original KaM maps?

It says 'KaM Remake scripting demo r5503' I have tried the following maps (all found in the map database link from this forum, on the top of the page)

* A way to East
* Defending the Homeland
* Lakeland
* No escape

So the guest was me, I forgot to log in >.<'

Do the maps work well that are in the Remake from the start? Like the tsk/tpr campaign or other multiplayer maps without download anything? If that works, we can forget about Hardwareproblems, like Michał just said. If ONLY these downloaded maps, it looks like you do sth wrong when putting the map in your folder... If the game crashes, and you get the range error it´s either because the map isn´t compatible with this version (Dyn. scripts)/the map is broken/you did sth wrong in pasting the folders in

A Way East, Lakeland and No Escape are gonna work only in newer versions of Remake, since there were some changes in script (probably that's why you get Range Error). They would work in new release, as well in current Release Candidate 2 (you can test if you want, just send mail at "contact kamremake.com"). About Defending the Homeland I don't know why it doesn't work, as far as I know it doesn't have any dynamic scripts...

Yes, Defending the Homeland has totaly no .script file.

Could you link me a newer version of the game? Since I thought the download on the KaM remake website was the newest?

Write a pm to Lewin. He will add you to the List of Betatesters if you want, so you get the newest version. It´s a ReleaseCandidate so you won´t find players that play online (except us, ts players at the evening) and it´s possible that this version has quite some bug, that doesn´t exist in the official Release. You can have more than one version of KaM on your computer at the same time.
