Hi,
searched for a time but couldn't find any help whit this problem...
4 years ago I played on my crappy old Windows 95 machine this game..
Now I play the KAM TPR version on my Windows XP pc which shouldn't be
a problem I thought...
I installed all updates but when in game there is a strange blue-silverish
cloud over everything that's supposed to be black I believe...
Runed it in 265 color mode... but still the problem...
made a copy of a screen... you can see it on the paths, in the water
also the ends of the map are strange...
Stranger it becomes when I swich the game to desktop and back..
for a couple of seconds all seems nice... but suddenly it remembers
to give me a crapy view and everything is blueisch again...
hope someone knows an solution!!...
Greetz,

So is that happening in-game and not only on your screenshot? Screenshots taken by normal methods from the game usually end up looking like that, but I've never heard that this would happen in-game.
What are your system specs.? (Mainly interested in GPU)

I take my screenshots whit an additional program so there an exact copy.
As told in my first post, if I switch to my desktop and back the game
seems completely normal for a few sec, so made an other screenshot of
that en put them both together to compare. (bit large)
screen shot normal vs crap:

My system specs:
AMD Athlon 64
1024 MB DDR Ram
nVidea Geforce FX5700 8x AGP, 256MB
so that shouldn't be a problem i think.
And since the desktop to game switch takes a few secs to screw op my
view i think it's got to do whit some property or so......

Have you got the lastest drivers for your Graphic Card? If you're using a 64-bit operating system finding up-to-date drivers could prove troublesome.

What resolution were you running before you switched? That's what mine looks like in 265 mode try 16 bit and also check your resolution within the game. We found it works best in 800x600.

Win XP home (so half my CPU isn't used

)..
But GPU Driver is up 2 date...
Solved the problem by following LeaWildcat's advise for in-game resolution...
800*600 was the only one that didn't gave me the bluish cloud...
But the screen becomes very small, 4 buildings and your screen is
full..
Although it's solved by turning to 800*600, still kind of strange since
my PC isn't that old and the property for higher screen resolution is
given.
any other advise?

Are you using a wide screen monitor? It sounds like when we run certain games on the laptop which is widescreen. I'll try to load the game on hubby's laptop and see what combination will work best and let you know. Hopefully it will work as we are running XPpro.

Mine will do that if I forget and leave some of my background stuff running. Before starting the game exit out of everything in the task bar and make sure the ingame resolution is at 800x600. It does only give you a limited view of the map but it makes the game much more playable. Remember this game was made for Windows 95 and Windows 98 when we thought SVGA was the hottest thing around. A lot of the 3D cards we now use for gaming aren't quite sure how to handle this environment.

The Peasants Rebellion might work better, you can use higher screen resolutions 1280 x 1024.

You can only make screenshots with one program?
Rubbish!
You only have to enable something in your windows register, and you can make screenshots with every possible program without any complications..!
As your server doesn't seem to work (not here in The Netherlands though), I can't see if your problem is the same I somethimes have. If you're screen is all coloured with the wrong colours, you can probably solve it by restarting the game a couple of times...
If it's something else, I haven't heared of it and can't help you...

i cant view his pics either, i run in both resolutions that the game runs in. but i keep my screen resolution the same so its only different in-game.
i run a winxp home sp2
westinghouse LCD 20.2" at 1280x1024 or 1400x1050 "not sure which i like better"
pent. 4 2.66ghz
384mb ram
nividia Geforce 5500 128mb "with dual moniter support"
ati tv wonder tuner card
"on board sound" stupid motherboard crap.
when alt+tab back and forth between game and something else i get graphical glitches sometimes but i just swap again and back and its fine.
you get them in most games though because their not meant to swap back and forth, otherwise they would be windowed.
