Are some maps coded so you can't change the color?

I was trying to change the color on a campaign, but everytime I try to load it in the editor it freezes up on me. Is this because the mapper did something to it?

All of the original missions should open. There is no locking system. I assume you're using my editor, version 0.9?

When you say it "freezes up", are you sure it's not just taking a long time to load? Really big missions can take a few minutes to load. What step of loading does it freeze on? (e.g. Processing commands, loading map) Which mission is it? (and how big is the file, if it's over 30 KB then it could take a long time)

If the mission editor really does freeze up then I want to know about it. Please give me the details.
Lewin.

You might also try loading it in my editor, it processes stuff in a different way (and is usually faster, but it's more prone to crashes).

There's no known way to do something to a mission to make it un-editable, so it'll probably be either an issue with the way commands are processed, or it just takes a while to load up.

Lewin,

I have your editor .8.5 I was trying to change the color on The Clash of Herb Island. When I pulled up my task manager it said that the editor was not responding. I had to shut my computer down manually. I tried it one more time just in case it was just a fluke, but it did the same thing.

I'm not making any maps right now and I'm only changing colors when I pull a map up in the editor. Do you think I should still upgrade to 0.9?

Thunderwolf,

I don't have your editor. Where can I get it from?

Thank you both for responding to my question.

"Not Responding" does not mean "Broken". During the entire loading process the program will be "Not Responding", because it is loading. So will lots of other programs. First I recommend you update to 0.9, because lots of bugs were fixed in that release. I tried loading the first mission of The Clash of Herb Island, and it took a few minutes on my computer. Once you've upgrade, try leaving it for 5 minutes or so during loading. I know this seems ridiculous, it's one of the problems with my editor. Even if it's not responding, just try leaving it. It is probably still working no matter what task manager says.

Defiantly. I can't give you proper support or guarantee what I say unless you are running the latest version. Updating is easy.
Thunderwolf, I don't have your editor. Where can I get it from?
You can get it from his website. Go to Downloads and get the latest version of Mission Builder. It's quite different to mine but has some interesting features and advantages.

@Lewin: you should make it multi-threaded (for the loading part), and put it into some progressbar or something like that.

There's only 0.9f2 up on the website now, and I don't think it's much use putting up the rest (which I don't have anymore anyways...)

b.t.w. There's way much stuff to do to get missionbuilder to become bug-free. It's kinda hard to start working on it again after more than a year of no development...
