Does anyone know where I can download or otherwise gain access to a editor that lets me make maps like the ones you see when you start one of the knights and merchants campaigns? You know, where the red flags are any the gray ones with skulls. You see maps like this in the beginning of books too. (i.e Lord of the Rings and Inheritance.) I really want to make a map like this. Can someone please help? Thanks!

There's no such editor that I know of, if you're good at graphics stuff you could try it with some graphics program, although I don't know how helpfull that would be...

Try searching the internet for such a program. It's unlikely that you'll find a style exactly like KaM, but some kind of black and white simple map should be easy enough. (similar to the ones used in fantasy books)
As far as replacing the KaM map, that's easy I think. Use Harold's Graphics editor, you'll find the map in guimain.rx or gui.rx. There might be some problems with palette colours, I'm not sure.
As for setting the flag locations, they are hardcoded into the exe and cannot be changed easily. (at least I'm pretty sure that's the case) Try to design your map around the existing flag positions.
If you find something let me know because I'm looking for something similar for my campaign.

Well I tried something which I do NOT recomend. I took and screenshot of the TPR map and ripped cirtain sections to make my map. It took me 3 hours to make a small section so I give up on that. The finnished product, however, turned out very nice. It is only of mission 1 though. I will put the image down if anyone wishes, but I would rather not (I didn't want to put any of my campaign on the internet untill it was finnished) but if anyone really wants to see it go ahead and ask.
I will continue looking for something, and I will cirtainly put something on this thred if I find anything of the sorts.

There's no need to take a screenshot of part of the map, you can get both maps here:

That professional program looks very good, but also very expensive.
