With all the unofficial patches and additional releases, it gets confusing sometimes to find out what is what.

One time I'm reading about total remakes, other times I'm reading about a certain beta 7, then something about a patch 1.6, etc.

Can somebody provide a stickied thread with a nice general overview of what is what and what version everyone should be playing to be up to date and well?

A list with explanations of all the remakes that are going on, the patches and the works in progress. Or something.

I have only just started to get back to K&M after years and I would like to know what I need to be where you guys are ^^

Well, the 1.6 patch is the would be complete patch for KaM TPR, it's current release is beta 7, so in that case, both of them are the same.

If you intent on playing KaM, it would be best to play the 1.6 beta 7 version.

There are also 2 complete remakes, but both are still in development..

After being around, browsing through the community a couple days I figured this out. Thanks for the info though.

Right now though I'm playing SR2 1.58. I would like to install this patch 6 beta 7, but I can't seem to do that. I've downloaded the file from the beta 7 topic but it tells me I don't have the appropriate language KAM installed (I need the English and only have the Dutch game).

Is there any way I can get the English, or does the beta 7 also exist for the Dutch version?

I'm really curious to hear what sounds are given to siege weapons and to the mercenary units!

The Dutch version of beta 7 is not complete yet, I think Litude is waiting for the translations.
But yeah you'll have to wait for that. (probably won't be too much longer)

Some stuff is a bit out of date but the info on Tools and Decoding is pretty good.
