After reading some pages, i understood u guys are going to completely remake KaM, thats awsome. Hope u guys will be able to finish it :wink:

Two laborers stuck on a tile for some reason, happened first time for me:

I don't suppose you'd happen to have some autosaves of that would you? Because while I can see what's happened it's really hard to tell why without autosaves.
Here's what's happened: Every unit in the game occupies a tile to stop other units from standing on it. As they move between tiles they become unoccupied and occupy the next one. This can be seen with F11 -> Debug -> Show Units. The green tiles are occupied, magenta squares show when vertices (corners of tiles) are occupied.
The labourers are stuck because the tile they are trying to walk to is occupied for some reason. This is caused by a bug somewhere in the code resulting in the previous tile a unit was on not being unoccupied when it leaves or dies. Did any units get killed on that tile? (just above the inn) Otherwise it could have happened when the inn was built. If you do have an auto saves please send the lot because it could have happened a long time ago.

We hope so too! A lot of the bugs you wrote about in the other topic will be fixed in the Remake. Try out the latest demo if you'd like to see what it's like.

Unfortunately, I don't have autosaves. BTW, that happened earlier than in 12th minute.
No unit died on that tile. It seems that it was caused while building the inn then.
Notice that there are two laborers at one tile (the one closer to inn), and killing the "hidden one" or sending them to build road at other tile results in two messages: "Integer overflow" and "ASSERTION FAILED! Msg: Dec unoccupied vertex? (C:\Documents and Settings\lewin\My Documents\Projects\Castlesand\KM_CommonTypes.pas, line 214)" - it does not always crash after that.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you some support and encouragement - I still check back here every couple of weeks to see if there's any new development.

I think it's awesome what you guys can do and what you are doing and I'm glad this game's still being kept alive. I look forward to seeing what else the future holds :)

Status report:

Lewin works on melee unit fights, it's almost perfect now :)
I've been working on MapEd and FontEd, made smooth viewport scrolling for Remake moments ago :)

Good to hear... sounds like this thing's making some serious progress!

I do think this could be really awesome! If we can make an exact KaM replica we can then open it up to all sorts of modding possibilities.

Wish I could be more involved!

Problem...

Hmm... after playing ~ 30 min. I'm getting this error message: "Range check error".
If I click it away, it keeps coming back...

Running on Windows 7 Ultimate.

Hi TheM,
Unfortunately I can't debug that error from the information you gave. I need the autosaves that the game creates in the Saves folder. (save10.sav to save 15.sav, one is created every minute and the last 5 are archived) Next time you have an error please send them to me so I can debug it. (lewinjh@gmail.com)
If you haven't played the Remake for more than a few minutes since the crash the autosaves will still be valid, in which case please send them to me.

Thanks anyway for going to the effort of reporting the crash, we appreciate it. :)

hy krom i had an error in the map: across the dessert.
it said:access violation at adress 004c3929 in module 'KaM Remake.exe' read of address 00000004.

Error

The third version doesn't work. The pathfinding system
crashes during the play...
(It tries to move a person to a location that doesn't exist,
and so it crashes...) :(
