Advertisements when clicking on topics

I had a question about the advertisements I am getting now.
Is that something new? It is not that I'm against it, I can just click it away, but I wondered has it always been like this, is it only me or is it since recently? And the advertisements show up when I click on for instance KaM Remake->Ideas etc.

It could be a PHP injection attack, I had my site attacked once where they hacked into my FTP server somehow and put malicious code in every PHP script. Quite messy to clean up... I made my FTP password much longer and started using SFTP just in case.
It could even be an exploit specific to PHPBB.

I can't see any ads although it tried to open a popup once or twice recently which it didn't do in the past (when I wasn't logged in so it couldn't have been a PM). Also, AdBlocker reports that it is blocking this script

But I can't see where that is coming from, maybe it's a false positive and used by one of the statistics trackers?

Just gave it a quick try on a non-modified browser. During page loading, there appeared a popup of a very dubious US-registering site. Very strange indeed! But no ads could be found.

I wonder where this popup came from? Maybe it's from the stats-page at the very bottom? This is one of the things that I have blocked in my usual browser account.

It was happening to me as well, very annoying. Since today it seems to be gone. It was one dutch ad, and an english one if i remember correctly. I always try to press the red button in the upper right section asap when an ad pops up
