Answer: No, it is one of the many bugs of TPR. Use TSK for multiplayer, it works fine as far as I've seen.

Yes, we see it... Gyula and I glad when both army pull down the enemy's buildings...
In TPR will that problem solve ever? A new patch, or it is impossible?

To fix that bug you would need access to the source code. This means that fans will probably never be able to solve it without help from the creators/publishers. (which I doubt will ever happen)
The Remakes will also fix this bug, when they are finished.

WAN playing

Is there any chance (e.g. by disassembling) to detect the location of IP address of Net-Games server in the source code in order to resurrect international multiplayer sessions? If so, are there current tendences to make it?

Yes, this has been done. It is possible to change the address of the server just by editing the EXE, however no one knows how the server works. I changed the address to be my local computer and I looked at the data it sent me. But I don't know how the protocol works. We asked ZuXXeZ for the master server program, but they wouldn't give it to us.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Lewin.

Net-Games AG

1. How can this topic also belong to Zuxxez? Wasn't Net-Games AG a standalone provider? If it was, don't they have the right to share their methods? If they do, have they ever denied this kind of collaboration?

2. Could you link me some further information about Net-Gams AG's past and present? On german forum I could only read about things of Topware (Zuxxez) and Joymania. Thanks in advance.

I did not know that Net-Games was stand alone. Perhaps we could find out more about them and try to contact them?

I don't know much about them so I don't have any links for you. I'll do some searching and let you know what I find.

EDIT: The server address from the EXE is netserver.earthnet.de

Hmm... nice :)
My idea that Net-Games AG was (or is) standalone is from seeing its signature in the popup message that appears above a file in Windows explorer when drawing the mouse there. So it was like something meta-info. Maybe in a day I can name you the files, thus being connected to Net-Games.

EDIT:
I only found fsgs.dll connected to Net-Games AG, matching the following page: http://net-games-ag.software.informer.com/

It seems that when I enter the multiplayer hall in the game, my browser doesn't have a connection any more. So the protocol must be either HTTP or something that exploits the port using HTTP.

Why would it be HTTP? The port used is not 80, which is standard for HTTP connections. The reason why your browser times out on the address rather than saying it doesn't exist is because netserver.earthnet.de is the reverse loop-up of 212.78.110.19. The IP address is still registered so the browser tries to make a connection. Even if the server was still there, the web browser wouldn't be able to connect anyway because it would be trying to connect to port 80 which the server would not be listening on. (I can't remember the port it actually uses)

There would be no reason to make the protocol HTTP, it's not designed for that kind of thing. (It is made for sending data from the server to the client, whereas in a multiplayer game the client needs to send a lot of data too)

Well, it tends to be off-topic but HTTP wasn't designed for the most of things that it's being used for. By the way, I don't really understand how much routers are worth if I cannot handle different ports in the same time.
