Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

@Ben: This is a big shoutbox full of ideas for us =) Of course it would be easier to have all ideas unduplicated, sorted in a neat list with votes and priorities
I could have an idea for that, but I would have to work that out. I'll think about doing something for it, but don't expect to much :P

Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

Idea and realization: Next version of Remake will allow you to add resources into houses within MapEditor. That way you can add stones to watchtowers in just a few clicks :)

@Kridge: That is a big task in itself, maybe worth creating a separate wiki, to be able to track all the ideas and their cross-connections, as well their status and arguments (in favor and against). Thats a lot of work.

Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

how about making an excelsheet for an overview and put it somewhere people can acces it? should be an easy task (at least making the excelsheet)?

Indeed some kind of overview would be nice. Maybe someone who watches this topic closely could add serious ideas to the overview.

I think you can lower to less than 50%. What you think about this?

Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

@Mixons: Maybe we can make that configurable in between 50 and 75%. However I feel 75% is a good default value :)

I'm sorry, but who even feeds their soldiers when they have ~75%? I vote for 50% as well. Unless you bring some good arguments :)

Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

Another theory: Maybe we could have two feed buttons? A button to only feed hungry soldiers (<25%?), and a button to feed all.

I, personally don't think that it is totally necessary to have a separate buttons for those. It would be nice sometimes; though.

However, I would like to see an "aggressive" button. My grandpa has gotten very angry sometimes because his troops just watch as enemies walk by them :P
If there was an "aggressive" and a "passive" button, then then this could be avoided.

Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

My great-grandpa told me last time we played, that would be useful if in the troops menu, you have a button to split from a big group of soldiers those with "25% and less condition". Possible name to this button -> Hunger Split.

I think he is right in some point... that way you can move closer to base those soldiers who need to be eat as fast as possible.
My great-grandpa is always thinking in humanistic features to improve the videogames he spends his last days playing.

Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

My great-great-great-grandfather always complains about the retarded way soldiers move to their position, maybe this could be improved?
Instead of going to their place going to the closest spot available. Also when a soldier is down and he has to go top instead of making him move all the soldiers just let that row all go 1 top so he can fit down.
Kick fast, think Bo.

Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

We could try something like Google Moderator for managing ideas/suggestions (I've seen another game using it, it looks pretty good), then anybody can vote on them and comment. But we'll still have the same problems of duplicates and variations on the same idea in different places...

I kind of agree that feeding troops with 75% condition is not something you'd often want to do. Some way to give more control over feeding troops would be good IMO, right now it's a bit of a mess when half of your men are hungry but you have to waste food on everyone when you can't really afford it. Changing it to 50% is not a perfect solution, maybe we can come up with something better?

@Ben: Aggressive and Passive stances are an interesting idea, I think it could work.

@Bo: We think the Hungarian algorithm could be used to reassign units to the closest position (except the flag guy of course). We plan to implement this eventually if it works, Krom is working on some important refactoring to the warrior code which will make it easier to improve stuff like this :)

Hello ALL

I have small sugestion:
Image

I suggest to make changes in the color of the number of people served.
If there is more than enough bakers, bakers number should be green. (1)
If the number of bakers (example) was to lower - it should be red.

Until now: You can immediately recognize who is missing and who is too much.

@Remake2012: We'd like to keep the game less "charty" and more "natural". You can see if you have less than enough Bakers by seeing if they have piles of unprocessed Flour ;)

Re: Official KaM Remake Ideas topic

I think what he meant was that if you have idle workers, then the number will change colors accordingly. E.g. if you have 2 quarries but 3 stonemasons the number of stone masons will appear in green, showing an excess in labor.
