Whenever I come across a letter with a "curved line" underneath it (don't know the actual name for it) I just kinda slur the sound in a "drunken/bored" way, and Rosetta seems to like it

Well, that might actually be close enough. The name of "curved line" in Polish is ogonek ("little tail")
And the difference between oni and one: oni is pronounced like o-knee, and one is pronounced like o-neh. (I think.)
