id software have released the source code for pretty much all of their slightly older games and none of them are freeware.

What you need to remember is that source code release doesn't equal making the game freeware. There are still the game graphics, missions, sounds etc. that wouldn't be included.

Guess I misunderstood you. I got the impression from your previous post that you thought ZuXXeZ wouldn't want to release the source code because they'd have to make the game free or something, hence you suggested that only people who own the game would have accessto the source code.

I meant that the source should be included in the KaM cd.
Well, then they'd have to run a reprint and I think they have stopped producing the game CDs. Besides how often do you see game source code included on the CD of a commercial game? That's right, not often. Your average Joe simply won't have any use for it.I meant that the source should be included in the KaM cd.
Every company has to make money from something, otherwise it's bankrupt. When you make money on something it's logical to protect from thefts.
Doesn't matter, when I make programs I include the source of them in their zip in a folder caled 'src'
