Information about palettes (Decoding)
Heey guys,
I did a little research on the palette files, and I found some potentially useful stuff. It might be know already, but it hasn't been added to the decoding page.
I experimented a little, simply by deleting them one at a time and placing them back. this is what I found: (Everything is based on TPR)
Setup.lbm: Used for the main menu.
pal[x].bbm: This is the most important palette, it's used for everything that is seen while playing, the terrain, the buildings, the minimap and the sidebar.
map.bbm: This palette is used for the introduction to the missions of the TSK-campaign. The name 'Map' refers to the map of the kingdom.
mapgold.lbm: Same as above, but for TPR.
Setup2.bbm: This one is used after the missions, when statistics are shown with the throne in the background.
As far as I know pal0, pal2, pal3, pal4 and pal5 aren't used at all. When I deleted them, I didn't notice any changes
Edit: Harold just pointed out to me that pal[x] is used for brightness setting
